Steve Lacy announces Fousheé as special guest on Australian tour this month
Nov 11, 2022Steve Lacy today announces that genre-defying singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Fousheé will join him on the upcoming Australian leg of his Give You The World Tour.
Beginning at Melbourne’s John Cain Arena on Tuesday 22 November, Lacy will play sold out upgraded venues in Melbourne and Brisbane this month, before taking in back-to-back nights at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion; a second night added last month to satisfy overwhelming demand from Australian fans. Fousheé will warm audiences at all four East Coast headline dates this November.
Fousheé recently announced that her anticipated sophomore album – softCORE – will be released on 18 November (RCA Records/Sony Music Australia). Described as a “punk record in the most pointed sense of the word”, softCORE is a remarkably diverse and fantastically singular offering that embraces the New York artist’s anger and vulnerability. Fou’s genius new single, ‘supernova’, was released in line with the album announcement.
Frequent collaborators, Fousheé co-wrote Steve Lacy’s No.1 Billboard smash ‘Bad Habit’, features on critically acclaimed Gemini Rights album track ‘Sunshine’ and is currently opening on the North American leg of his Give You The World Tour.
Performing his global hit ‘Bad Habit’ and ‘Helmet’ on Saturday Night Live over the weekend, Steve Lacy reminds us exactly why his live show is a not-to-be-missed live experience. His live stream from LA’s iconic Greek Theatre will be available to Australian audiences this Saturday 12 November from 3pm AEDT (Friday 11 November from 8pm PT in the US) via Amazon Prime.

Steve Lacy second & final Sydney show added to satisfy massive demand!
Oct 10, 2022After upgrading all Australian headline venues last week in response to overwhelming demand, Steve Lacy’s Sydney and Melbourne Give You The World dates have again sold out within moments!
A second and final Sydney show has been added to the four-date headline run, which will now see the Gemini king take in back-to-back performances at the Hordern Pavilion on Sunday 27 November (new show) and Monday 28 November (sold out).
Tickets to the just announced Sydney show are on sale now through ticketek.com.au.
New tickets to Brisbane’s upgraded Riverstage show are on sale today at 10am local.
Just last week, Lacy’s streaming smash ‘Bad Habit’ claimed No.1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart, becoming his first ever single to reach the chart. In Australia, the track topped Spotify’s Top 50 Chart and peaked at No.3 on the ARIA Singles Chart.
Lacy’s Australian visit follows the release of his critically acclaimed new album Gemini Rights, which he dropped in July. Written, produced, and played pretty much entirely by Steve, the record is an incredible leap forward for an artist who has already established himself as a true cultural force. Like Lacy himself, the record is an amalgamation of a crazy array of references and influences – everything from Caetono Veloso to Andre 3000’s The Love Below to the Beatles to Sly Stone to his friends/band mates in THE INTERNET and much more.
With a live show that is equally celebrated, Steve Lacy has earnt praise from the likes of Pitchfork, DIY Magazine and Rolling Stone, who called Gemini Rights “brilliantly mercurial”.
‘fearlessly funky… more refined and vibrant than ever’ – NME
‘His performance is compelling, bolstered by an unwavering commitment to vulnerability…’ – The Line Of Best Fit
‘This singular talent goes to the next level with his deliciously languid second solo album’ – The Guardian
Lacy already has a veteran’s resume, and his list of collaborators is a who’s who of game changing artists, all of whom look to the artist to bring his signature brand of cool to their sonic table – people like Tyler the Creator, Solange, J.Cole, Vampire Weekend, Dirty Projectors, Kali Uchis, Thundercat and Mac Miller. Not to mention his guitar, bass, songwriting, and production with his bandmates THE INTERNET. His song ‘Dark Red’, which he literally made on his iPhone, claimed platinum status in the US recently!
Following his US tour dates this Spring, Steve Lacy will return down under in November and December and it’s a music experience that is absolutely not to be missed.
