ANNOUNCES EXCLUSIVE GOLD COAST HEADLINE SHOW THIS MARCH

WITH SPECIAL GUEST DAN SULTAN

Frontier Touring are delighted to announce that Aussie music icon Missy Higgins will wrap up her national co-headline tour with John Butler Trio by performing a very special all ages standalone show at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre on Saturday 2 March.

Opening the evening will be special guest Dan Sultan who is no stranger to sharing the stage with Higgins, having performed together at Before Too Long: triple j’s Tribute to Paul Kelly in 2010 before featuring on her 2014 track ‘The Biggest Disappointment’.

Dan released his fourth studio album Killer in August 2017 to widespread critical acclaim, with media and fans alike hailing it as his most ambitious and accomplished work to date.

Fittingly, Dan will also be joining Missy on stage later this month alongside Peter Garrett, Kasey Chambers, Gretta Ray, Ben Abraham and David Higgins, when she is honoured for Ausmusic Month with an ABC live broadcast of Missy Higgins & Friends Live to celebrate almost 15 years since her landmark album Sound Of White (6 ARIA Awards, 9 x platinum sales). This special broadcast will be recorded live at an intimate show in the Melba Spiegeltent in Melbourne on Sunday 25 November.

Missy has had a huge 2018 that has seen her release and tour her first album of originals in six years, Solastalgia (out now through EMI), which came in at #3 on the ARIA Album Chart, and support global superstar Ed Sheeran on his Australian stadium tour — all while pregnant with her second child who made her world debut in August!

‘The halfway point of Missy’s set sent shivers down my spine and was a moment this Melbourne crowd should truly feel privileged to have witnessed.’ – The AU Review

‘The unmistakeable heart-aching personal touch that Higgins adds to every one of her songs is still ever so strong.’ – Music Feeds

To end the year with a bang, Missy has announced the release of The Special Ones – Best Of (out 23 Nov), a collection of four previously unreleased tracks and 16 handpicked songs from her multi-platinum albums The Sound Of White, On A Clear Night, The Ol’ Razzle Dazzle, Oz, and this year’s Solastalgia. Described by Missy as ‘musical time travel’, she hopes the album will take listeners back to a special place in their memory they’d forgotten about.

As well as highlights from her prolific career, The Special Ones – Best Of also includes a very special previously-unreleased live version of the Hunters & Collectors classic ‘Throw Your Arms Around Me’, captured in front of over 80,000 people on Ed Sheeran’s stadium tour, and the original demo of ‘All For Believing’ - watch the video of the very first high school recording of the track here, recorded when Missy was just 15 years old.

Missy Higgins is one of Australia’s greatest singer-songwriters and her stories truly transform to life on stage. Gold Coast locals should not hesitate to grab tickets to this very special headline show with special guest Dan Sultan!
