RETURNING TO VICTORIA FOR A FOURTH YEAR WITH A MASSIVE LINE UP OF AUSSIE ROCK ROYALTY

In what will no doubt be another sell-out event, the annual ONE ELECTRIC DAY FESTIVAL returns to the Great Lawn of Werribee Park this November with a killer line- up of great Aussie Rock. This must see event of the summer features JIMMY BARNES, ICEHOUSE, JAMES REYNE, RUSSELL MORRIS and THE BADLOVES.

The home-grown Victorian event, which has become a favourite on the local festival calendar, has previously sold-out every year well in advance and 2016 promises to be no different.

ONE ELECTRIC DAY promoter Duane McDonald says he is excited to bring another great line-up of Australian music royalty to the stage and expects the 2016 event to be bigger than ever with industry giants Jimmy Barnes and Icehouse appearing on the same bill for the very first time. “ONE ELECTRIC DAY is a great family event for all ages,” he says. “We are proud to be able to bring such great artists to the one stage for music fans to enjoy. We anticipate this year’s festival will once again sell-out quickly so encourage you to get in quick to avoid disappointment.”

JIMMY BARNES needs no introduction to Aussie rock music lovers and his inclusion in any festival bill is always guaranteed to delight. As a legend both from his time fronting Cold Chisel and his top charting solo career, Barnes has toured the breadth of Australia. He has an enviable back catalogue that makes for incredible live performances with songs like Working Class Man, When Your Love Is Gone and No Second Prize to name a few. With the announcement of his latest soul series album – which follows on from his Soul Deep (1991), Soul Deeper (2000) and The Rhythm and The Blues (2009) soulful installments – Soul Searchin’ explores Jimmy’s musical roots and is out on June 3. Jimmy Barnes takes to the stage in 2016 with rock n roll set packed with his greatest hits.

ICEHOUSE are one of those bands who have managed to transcend age groups and with a career spanning more than 30 years, generations of music lovers have been brought up with hits such as Crazy, Electric Blue, We Can Get Together, Great Southern Land, Hey Little Girl and Man Of Colours to name a few. ICEHOUSE have sold over three million albums locally, more than nine million internationally have achieved 28 platinum album sales in Australasia. They have had eight Top 10 albums and more than 30 Top 40 singles. One of Australia’s greatest live acts, they are set to present a show not to be missed.

JAMES REYNE has been treading the boards in the rock halls of Australian music for decades. From his time fronting the legendary Australian Crawl through to his successful solo career, James’ music is part of Australian history. As a prolific songwriter and strong vocalist, it’s no surprise that James has won accolade after accolade for his contribution to music.

Bringing both new and old music to the stage, RUSSELL MORRIS will have audiences on their feet. More than 40 years after his breakthrough hit – the Molly Meldrum-produced psychedelic masterpiece, The Real Thing – Russell Morris has successfully reinvented himself as a superb bluesman. His latest albums – including Sharkmouth, Van Diemen’s Land and Red Dirt – Red Heart – have comprised of roots-derived songs built on the stories of Australia. Recognised as one of Australia’s premier singer-songwriters, Russell also penned such iconic hits as Wings of an Eagle, Sweet Sweet Love and The Girl That I Love to name a few. THE BADLOVES are an Australian institution. Established in Melbourne in the late 1980s, they have made an indelible imprint on the local scene, from their original compositions to their collaborations. Described as having a ‘neo-hippy, retro’ sound, they have an impressive back catalogue including the likes of Green Limousine, I Remember, Lost and Memphis to name a few.
