AUSTRALIAN LEG OF THE 1989 WORLD TOUR CONFIRMED
3RD + FINAL MELBOURNE SHOW ADDED!

FIRST FEMALE SOLO ARTIST TO PLAY STADIUMS ON BACK TO BACK AUSTRALIAN TOURS

WITH SPECIAL GUEST VANCE JOY

Adding to an already impressive year of making and breaking recordsTaylor Swift will become the first ever artist to perform three concerts at Melbourne’s AAMI Park, and even more impressively, will be achieving the feat on a single tour.

Frontier Touring are thrilled to confirm that global superstar Swift will be adding a third and final Melbourne show date to The 1989 World Tour on Thursday 10 December, following overwhelming demand for tickets to the now sold out Friday 11 and Saturday 12 December shows. Tickets to the new show will be on sale to the general public from 10am AEST, Thursday 23 July.

No further dates will be added to the tour; this will be Australian fans’ last opportunity to catch the biggest performer in the world at the top of her game. Swift herself says the tour experience “…almost feels as if you are in a different world”.

The 1989 World Tour has gathered shining reviews across Asia, North America and Europe since kicking off in Tokyo earlier this May:

'Never one to do things halfway, Swift has made this a pop show — or rather the pop show, as far as 2015 is concerned.' - Rob Sheffield, Rolling Stone Magazine

'Swift has become a commanding stadium-sized pop star.' - Hardeep Phull, NY Post

‘Playing to 65,000 people, Taylor Swift's 1989 was everything we wanted in a concert… A show of lights, glitter and kick-ass sisterhood, Swift told the audience she would "remember this night for the rest of [her] life" and, well, after that performance Taylor, so will we.’ - Alice Howarth, Glamour Magazine

'[The 1989 World Tour] is the obvious end result of Operation 1989 World Domination' - Erin Strecker, Billboard Magazine

'Judging by the screams echoing long after she left the stage, it’s safe to say that Taylor knows exactly how to entertain a 65,000 strong crowd and keep them dancing for days afterwards. Seriously though, we’re still dancing.' - Charlotte Warwick, MTV

With 140 million album sales worldwide including eight million copies of 1989 – her iconic fifth album – alone, Taylor Swift is one of the biggest pop stars to ever grace the charts and live stage.

She is the only artist in history to have three albums sell more than a million copies in their first week of release: 1989, Red (2012) and Speak Now (2010) and was the only artist in 2014 to have two singles take the top spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart, dethroning her own smash hit ‘Shake It Off’ with its follow-up ‘Blank Space’. The charts have been equally kind to Swift in 2015 with current single ‘Bad Blood’ (ft. Kendrick Lamar) becoming the fourth-consecutive #1 release from 1989.

In addition to chart success, Swift has received seven Grammy Awards, 16 American Music Awards and 22 Billboard Music Awards and is the youngest recipient of the Grammy for Album of the Year, the Country Music Awards’ Entertainer of the Year and Billboard’s Woman of the Year. In 2014 alone, Swift was awarded the inaugural AMA Dick Clark Award for Excellence, named IFPI’s Global Recording Artist and 1989 was awarded iTunes’ Album of the Year.

Demand for tickets across the entire The 1989 World Tour has been massive and Swift’s third and final Melbourne show is expected to be just as popular. Don’t miss the chance to witness one of the world’s most talented and adored performers as her impassioned songwriting comes alive on stage this summer.

Joining Taylor Swift for all shows will be Melbourne’s own singer-songwriter, Vance Joy. The talented musician has been on the road with Swift as her main support for The 1989 World Tour which sees him performing to hundreds of thousands of fans across multiple countries for the remainder of the year. To celebrate the tour, Vance Joy released a stunning, stripped back cover of Swift’s ‘I Know Places’ which has racked up close to 900,000 views on YouTube since its release two months ago.

The show is sponsored by Cornetto and tickets to Swift’s third and final Melbourne show are on sale next Thursday 23 July. American Express Card Members will be able to access pre-sale tickets to the new show from 10am AEST, Thursday 16 July. Very limited tickets remain to all other shows on the Australian leg of The 1989 World Tour, on sale now via Ticketek Australia.
