GRANTS FANS’ WISHES FOR A DEBUT AUSTRALIAN TOUR!

Gifted singer-songwriter Kina Grannis has captured the attention of music lovers worldwide through her captivating live and video performances and is very excited to greet her Australian fans live in concert for the first time this March.

An undoubtedly irresistible performer, Kina first started broadcasting her videos on her YouTube channel www.youtube.com/kinagrannis in 2007.

The American songstress will celebrate the release of her debut album Stairwells (out 16 March through Liberator) with her first Australian tour, performing at intimate venues in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne in a visit as highly anticipated by fans as by Kina herself:

"I have been trying and trying for years to get over to Australia, so I'm just about as ecstatic as can be that it's actually happening! I cannot wait to meet and thank all the people there who have been a part of my journey and helped allow me to do what I love every day."

With over half a million subscribers on YouTube to date, the Internet darling is one of the most prolific acoustic musicians to come out of the video hosting website which is no surprise given her talent and the level of engagement with her fans and viewers. Of her fans, Kina says:

“One of the most amazing things that came out of the whole experience was the relationship that formed between me and my supporters online. They were right there on the journey with me, and every bit of success I had was thanks to them.”

Mixing her original compositions with a range of beautifully re-imagined acoustic covers earned her immediate credibility, attention and praise for both her refreshing take on popular hits and innate ability to pen genuinely charming songs.

Her latest single ‘In Your Arms’ was accompanied by a stop-motion video comprising almost 2500 frames constructed out of 288,000 Jelly Belly jelly beans. The masterpiece, which took 22-months to complete, has been admired by numerous international television programs including The Today Show, Good Morning America, E! and The Ellen DeGeneres show.

The video is truly a marvel to behold and has blasted her into the stardom stratosphere, amassing nearly 5 million views to date. ‘In Your Arms’ and album Stairwells have shot to #1 and #2 on the US iTunes’ Singer-Songwriter Charts respectively.

Joining Kina Grannis on tour will be Ollie Brown. Recently crowned ‘Australia’s Best Busker’, the 21 year old musician has taken his music across the country and around the world before returning home for the release of his debut EP Moving On.

"I tend to be influenced by whatever artists or bands that I'm listening to at the time. I remember consuming Bon Iver and Ray LaMontagne's first albums before and during the time in the studio, so i think that the intimacy of those two records rubbed off on to the EP."

Ollie beat out 50 other musicians for the grand title of ‘Australia’s Best’ and took home a $20,000 recording contract before securing a spot on the coveted Bluesfest festival lineup and a national tour, these dates with Kina Grannis are the icing on the cake!
