PRINCE BANDROOM & ODEON THEATRE SHOWS
Misdiagnosed is Melbourne-based troubadour Harry Hookey’s recently released 12-track debut album (out now via Warner Music Australia), recorded with producer Nash Chambers at Chambers’ Foggy Mountain Studios.

Steeped in rich storytelling and alt-country-tinged flavours, the title track took out first place in the Unsigned category at last year’s International Songwriting Awards, while lead single ‘Man Of Fire’ (watch the clip here) is a promise of what’s to come. “Harry Hookey’s Misdiagnosed is the musical equivalent of a pep talk and a hug from an old friend – 4/5,” says renownedforsound.com.

SYDNEY & MELBOURNE THEATRE SHOWS ANNOUNCED

HOBART & 2ND MELBOURNE SHOWS ADDED TO MEET DEMAND!

+ PERFORMING AT A DAY ON THE GREEN WINERY SHOWS NATIONALLY WITH PAUL KELLY’S MERRI SOUL SESSIONS

It’s a warm welcome back to Australia to the wonderful Lucinda Williams, who today announces a series of intimate theatre shows this December, presented by Frontier Touring. This will be a unique opportunity to see the talented American songstress perform her own headline shows, while she’s in the country appearing as special guest for Paul Kelly’s Merri Soul Sessions a day on the green winery shows.

The three time Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter, acclaimed for her unique country-rock meets soul sound, will play Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Wednesday 2 December and Melbourne’s Forum Theatre on Monday 7 December.

Williams will also join Paul Kelly’s Merri Soul Sessions, who’ll tour the country with Kasey Chambers and Marlon Williams, for a day on the green events in all states.

Hailing from Louisiana, Williams has been manoeuvring down a path all her own for more than three decades now, amassing an adoring fan base along the way. “America’s best songwriter” (Time) has released 11 acclaimed studio albums, from 1988’s breakthrough Lucinda Williams to the landmark Car Wheel On A Gravel Road (1998) to last year’s double-album offering, Down Where the Spirit Meets The Bone

Williams is in the most prolific period of her career; as always refusing to rest on her laurels and continuing to push her creative boundaries. Down Where The Spirit Meets The Bone features 20 new songs, with 18 written solely by Williams. The album’s opening track ‘Compassion’ marks a personal milestone for Williams, as it’s the first time she has composed music for one of her father’s (poet Miller Williams) poems. The album, which closes with an epic and gorgeous rendition of JJ Cale’s ‘Magnolia’, won rave reviews here in Australia:

‘An album that is timeless, heartfelt and beautiful’ – The Music

‘Lucinda Williams is one of the few musicians who can be trusted to pull off a double album thanks to her consistency and musical integrity’ – Rolling Stone

‘There’s half a dozen bona fide classics (of the country soul sound) here but for Williams they seem effortless, such is her mastery of the form.’ – The Age

‘This album has beauty and heart’ – Sydney Morning Herald

Don’t miss the bold and original Lucinda Williams on her very first Australian tour since 2012.
