FOO FIGHTERS | Intimate & exclusive show at Auckland Town Hall confirmed!Feb 17, 2015
Frontier Touring has confirmed that the Foo Fighters will play a last minute intimate and exclusive benefit show at the Auckland Town Hall this Friday 20th February!
The band were last in New Zealand in December 2011 for a tour finale that generated actual geological tremors detected by seismic stations within two kilometres of Western Springs Stadium. Returning in 2015 touring on their latest album Sonic Highways (out now through Sony New Zealand), tickets to the Foo Fighters’ concerts at Christchurch's AMI Stadium and Auckland's Mt Smart Stadium have been in hot demand, playing to their biggest NZ audiences ever.
In March 2011, Foo Fighters played an epic one-off three hour benefit concert to a sell-out crowd at the Auckland Town Hall to help raise funds for the Christchurch Earthquake recovery. Later that year Dave Grohl promised: "You have my word that the next time we come back to this city, we'll play that Town Hall again.” As every Foo Fighters fan knows, Dave is a man of his word.
This Friday's Town Hall concert will also benefit charity with all profits going to the New Zealand Music Foundation. The New Zealand Music Foundation is a unique charity with a twin kaupapa. It changes the lives of those in need across the country by supporting music-based projects at youth organisations, hospices, schools, hospitals, rehabilitation centres and more. It also provides emergency assistance to those in the music community who find themselves experiencing illness, distress and hardship. You can find more information about their work at their website: nzmusicfoundation.org.nz
Tickets for this intimate Foo Fighters show are going on sale from Ticketmaster at 12.00pm NZDT tomorrow (Thursday 19th February) and are tipped to sell out fast.
This concert is for the fans so in a measure to deter scalping, Frontier Touring ask fans to please note the following:
There is a strict limit of two (2) tickets per customer. Any customer found to have purchased more than two (2) tickets per show will have their additional transactions cancelled. Any customer that resells this ticket at a premium (i.e. an inflated price); resells this ticket through a broker or agent; advertises or offers this ticket for resale including on the internet; or uses this ticket for advertising, promotion or other commercial purpose (including competitions or trade promotions) or to enhance the demand for other goods or services, without the prior written permission of the promoter will have their transaction cancelled.
These conditions are in addition to the ticketing agency’s existing Terms Of Sale agreed upon by the purchaser at the time of their transaction.
All patrons who are successful in purchasing tickets will then need to collect their wrist bands on the day of the show. Wristbands will be available for collection from 10.00am to 7.00pm from pop up ticketing outlets in Aotea Square. Credit card holders MUST arrive with their guest (if an additional ticket has been purchased) to collect their wristbands and tickets together. They cannot be picked up separately. Anyone not collecting their wristbands and tickets during the stipulated times will not gain entry to the event. Wristbands are strictly non-transferable and must not be tampered with. If a wristband is considered to be tampered with, the patron will be refused entry.
Wristbands must be collected and personally signed for by the credit card holder who is the only person authorised to collect. For identification purposes the credit card holder must also present the credit card used when purchasing the tickets, and the account confirmation number as well as valid Photo ID.
This is an all ages event.
Tickets to the Foo Fighters Sonic Highway Tour shows at AMI Stadium and Mt Smart Stadium are on sale now. Buy your tickets now before you miss out on seeing one of the greatest rock acts of our time!
AUCKLAND TOWN HALL CHARITY CONCERT CANCELLED
It is with great regret that we advise that the Foo Fighters charity concert scheduled at the Auckland Town Hall tomorrow night (Friday 20 February 2015) has been cancelled.
A truck carrying essential band equipment was involved in a serious accident today whilst travelling from Christchurch to Auckland.
Thankfully the driver is expected to be ok.
The specialised equipment on the truck was so badly damaged it cannot be used. Replacement equipment is being flown from Los Angeles to Auckland in time for the Foo Fighters Mt Smart concert on Saturday night. The Auckland Mt Smart show will proceed as scheduled.
Patrons who purchased tickets for the Friday Town Hall show will receive a full refund.
The credit card used to purchase tickets will be refunded automatically by Ticketmaster. The refund process can take up to 5 days, once processed, please allow 3-5 days for this to show on both your Balance and Statement.
Fans wishing to make a donation to New Zealand Music Foundation are able to do so here: https://bit.ly/DonateNZMF
Foo Fighters and Frontier’s thoughts are with our crew member for a full recovery. We apologise for any inconvenience caused to ticket buyers.
