Touring Sydney & Melbourne in June!

Snakey stage presence and menacing rock & roll: East London/Essex four-piece The Bohicas will make their debut visit to Australia in June 2014, for two special headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne.

“With a sound that sits somewhere in between early The Horrors, Bloc Party and Franz Ferdinand, ‘XXX’ is an arresting, alluring and ambitious first taste” – Nick Findlay, triple j

Signed to the influential Domino label at the end of 2013 and led by frontman Dominic McGuinness, The Bohicas  burn with an explosive, energetic live show and snarling tracks you’ll not easily forget. One listen to first single ‘XXX’ and it’s clear: The Bohicas are destined for big things. That’s what Scottish indie kings Franz Ferdinand thought too, and so asked The Bohicas to support them at various shows in Ibiza and the UK. Since their arrival on the scene these young upstarts have hit the road and slayed fans, playing almighty gigs filled with limitless intensity – which they’ll take to European festivals over the upcoming months, with slots booked on Pukkelpop, Latitude, Field Day, Down The Rabbit Hole, and more.

Call ‘em a force of nature – off the back of the release of 2013’s ‘XXX’, The Bohicas were all over triple j, most played on the station in January and touting them as their “Pick of the Week” in industry bible The Music Network. The equally powerful flip-side of the double A-sided ‘Swarm’ was yet another winner, both songs scoring hundreds of thousands of views online thanks to a raunchy, double-song film clip introducing the band... Settle in and check it out here.

“Filled to the brim with devilish ideas, this debut double-clip comes off like the most intense hangover on tape.” – thisisfakediy.co.uk

Excitement over The Bohicas back at home is also rising fast. Regular plays from the likes of radio hosts Zane Lowe, Lauren Laverne and Huw Stevens, the latter of whom also recently invited the band for their first Radio 1 live session. Listen to them perform three songs in the studio here.

The Bohicas will release their self-titled debut EP on Friday 13 June – days prior to these Australian shows – and it’ll feature ‘XXX’ and ‘Swarm’, as well as the band’s forthcoming third single ‘Crush Me’ and a previously un-heard new song – ‘Bloodhound’. The four-track recording captures the thrilling momentum of the London based quartet, whose sound ranges from straight up rock & roll to sharp post-punk. ‘Crush Me’ has another cinematic clip (watch it here), this time filmed by Will Lovelace and Dylan Southern, who’ve shot music videos for the likes of the Arctic Monkeys and films for LCD Soundsystem (Shut Up And Play The Hits) and Blur (No Distance Left To Run).

Gigs alongside bands like Drenge, Frightened Rabbit, the Wytches and more, sell-out club shows across the UK and beyond, big word-of-mouth build and serious heat: The Bohicas first trip down under is going to be big. This might be your last chance to catch the band in venues this size – get in quick!
