PERFORMING ONE-OFF PERTH HEADLINE SHOW!

The Frontier Touring Company can confirm that pop-punk maestros Simple Plan are heading to Perth for an exclusive one-off headline performance at Challenge Stadium this December, with special guest Tonight Alive!

Simple Plan missed out on performing for their devoted WA fans last time they were in Oz and are determined to make sure that doesn’t happen again with this one and only headline show, to coincide with their appearances on the Australian Vans Warped Tour.

Simple Plan’s place in the Vans Warped Tour line-up is something of a legacy, having hit the road with the alternative festival for the first time in 2001 after making a name for themselves in their two years together as the pop punk band with as much talent as they had swagger. In 2002 they released breakthrough debut album No Pads, No Helmets...Just Balls. Vivacious and irresistible, the album was certified platinum here in Australia and double platinum in both the United States and their homeland of Canada.

Exemplifying the kind of work ethic that heralds a long spanning career, Simple Plan played no less than three hundred shows in the year of their debut release including performances alongside fellow punk royalty Green Day and Good Charlotte.

The band unleashed their second album Still Not Getting Any... in 2008. With production from Bob Rock (Bon Jovi, Metallica), their sophomore release showcased a more refined sound and produced the hugely successful single ‘Welcome To My Life’ that climbed to #7 on the ARIA charts.

In 2008, Simple Plan released their self-titled third album, which was arguably their most accomplished to date and balanced their trademark spunk with the growth of the band and deeper thematic maturity. Another bona-fide smash hit worldwide, the album reached the top-ten in seven different countries.

Their most recent offering Get Your Heart On! (out now through Warner Music Australia) is a bombastic tour-de-force of energy that harkens back to their debut. Featuring appearances from Rivers Cuomo, Natasha Bedingfield, and All Time Low's Alex Gaskarth, Get Your Heart On! is choc-full of bangers including the infectious ARIA Top 10 single ‘Jetlag’ (watch the clip featuring Bedingfield here).

Simple Plan are renowned for their live shows, not only because of their artillery of non-stop hits but their dynamic and engaging performances that have enthralled devoted fans and critics alike:

“Simple Plan … simply perfect.” – Noise 11

“With their endearing charm and insane energy that kept the crowd going, Simple Plan proved why, even a decade down the track, it is still playing to a full house.” – Take 40

“This was one of the only gigs I’ve ever been to where literally the entire venue was a die-hard fan, and it made for the best atmosphere I’ve ever experienced. Every single track was met with excitement and passionate sing-alongs.”– The AU Review

Joining Simple Plan as special guest are Sydney’s own pop punk five-piece Tonight Alive, who have become a beacon of talent in Australia and overseas, with US  rock radio station KROQ listing Tonight Alive as one of the top 10 Australian bands of all time. Their second album The Other Side (watch the clip for single ‘Lonely Girl’ here) was released in September to some serious acclaim including five-star reviews from Kerrang! magazine and Alter The Press!. The band have previously shared the stage with a veritable who’s who of rock such as All Time Low, The Getaway Plan, New Found Glory and of course Simple Plan, making this a reunion that cannot be missed.

Demonstrating the kind of depth and integrity that Simple Plan have become known for, $1 from every ticket sold will go to the Simple Plan Foundation, helping young people in need by easing their often difficult passage to adulthood and supporting the victims of life threatening illnesses. The band says of the impressive initiative:

“We’ve had the great opportunity of touring the world and meeting all sorts of kids from places far and wide. We’ve also had to see the harsh realities of children living in war torn areas around the world: children who are living in poverty, who are forced into armies, and are suffering from the after effects of war. We believe every child deserves a happy childhood. We hope our foundation will be a global foundation that will give back to the world community of children and help them deal with their own personal daily struggles. If we can bring a few smiles to these children, we know that would make a world of difference”.

Simple Plan’s exclusive headline performance is a unique opportunity to see a band looking both retrospectively and forward. With a catalogue of contemporary classics, skilful execution and tons of style, the plan IS simple. Make sure you don’t miss your chance to see their only Perth performance this December!
