LAWSON CONFIRM METRO THEATRE SYDNEY SHOW DURING AUSTRALIAN VISIT!

The Frontier Touring Company have confirmed that treasured UK four piece Lawson will be performing a special, all ages show at the Metro Theatre on Thursday 18 April when they hit Australian shores to promote hot new single ‘Learn To Love Again’ next month.

Vocalist and guitarist Andy Brown, bassist Ryan Fletcher, lead guitarist Joel Peat and drummer Adam Pitts have quickly carved a name for themselves since releasing UK top 5 debut single ‘When She Was Mine’ in 2012. The band followed up with second single ‘Taking Over Me’ which managed to soar straight to the top 3 of the UK charts.

Debut album Chapman Square was co-written by Andy and chronicles his own relationship breakdown. The album manages to find a delicate balance between rock and pop with the kind of bombastic guitars and lyrical anthems that echo the likes of The Script and Coldplay. The album rocketed to the UK top 5 upon release, managing to disarm critic’s preconceptions to become one of England's hottest exports;

“...their ear for a guitar-pop stadium filler remains second to none. “You're taking over me/ Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh/ I'm in ecstasy," they croon on a chorus befitting such elation; and with another stellar track under their worn, brown leather belts, we suspect they won't be coming down any time soon.” – Digital Spy

Having toured with everyone from Jessie J to the legendary Bruce Springsteen and selling out venues across Europe, the band have also managed to greatly impress with their live showmanship;

“The setting was minimalistic, but their stage presence was contagious... Brown is not just a pretty face; his smooth voice possesses maturity beyond his years.” – This Is Nottingham

Supporting Lawson will be blossoming singer songwriter Sinead Burgess who at the age of 22 has won over the attention of the Australian music industry by becoming the author of her own destiny. Originally enlisted in a country music career, the multi-instrumentalist risked it all and announced her desire to make an album that truly expressed her true artistic desires. New single ‘Rearview Mirror’ was co-written by Sinead, and production song writing masterminds Stuart Crichton (Kylie, Sugababes) and Brian Lee (Lady Gaga, Carly Rae Jepson), and shows that her strength of conviction has payed off. Burgess’s sophisticated pop-rock sensibilities spotlight her as the perfect fit for Lawson.

If the last 12 months are anything to go by then Lawson are clearly THE band to watch. This intimate show is a rare opportunity to see the boys up close and personal. Make sure you don't miss out!
