ARCTIC MONKEYS

The rumours have been rife and the speculation has been sensational. Finally Frontier Touring Company can anounce that the most talked about band of the year, the Arctic Monkeys, are confirmed to tour Australia and New Zealand this July.

Since the Arctic Monkeys’ debut album ‘Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not’ (EMI – in store now) debuted in Australia at #1 and New Zealand at #5, the buzz around the four lads from Sheffield, England has been next to none.

In their homeland, the Arctic Monkeys smashed the long standing record for the fastest selling debut album in UK history, selling more than 360,000 copies in the first week alone. In February they upped the ante, scoring an impressive three gongs at the Brit Awards, including 'Best British Band' and 'Best New Band' and the ‘Best Track’ award for 'I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor'.

Brit mag NME awarded the album 10/10, calling them “Our Generation’s Most Important Band’. Hollywood Reporter wrote that live, “[it] was a snarling, bare-bones show driven by tight playing, strong songs and an innate youthful energy.”

With a vibe this simmering hot, fans in Auckland, Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney should be in the starters block and ready to race to the box office.
