THE CIRCUS IS COMING TO TOWN

In 1992 the circus world was changed forever when Jim Rose and his troupe appeared at the Lollapalooza tour. Exclaimed over by publications ranging from the Wall Street Journal to Rolling Stone they were like nothing seen before.

Fast forward to 2005 and Jim Rose and his circus are returning to Australia with a brand new show. Taking in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth, Australians across the country will be able to see what Rolling Stone called “the absolute must-see act”.

Jim describes his new show as “comedy with a little less shock and a lot more sex.” Based around a ‘battle of the sexes’ theme, the show includes both daring new stunts and an alluring new troupe member.

Old favourites Bébé the Circus Queen, The Amazing Mr Lifto, Rupert - the lawnmower wielding salad maker and Big Mak - the world’s fattest contortionist plus new addition Amber Pie make up the troupe for the November Australian tour.

Now a worldwide phenomenon, reviews of Jim Rose’s shows are effusive in their praise. The Independent wrote “his delivery is brutally comic. He plays the highly-strung audience like a violin.”

New Music Express wrote “we all went home satisfied, entertained and suitably appalled to the depth of our being.”

And if success is measured by an appearance on TV show The Simpsons, Jim Rose and his circus have been accorded the ultimate accolade, with Homer joining Jim’s circus as the Human Cannonball. Jim has also featured in 90s cult TV show X-Files and has his own character ‘Psymon’ on Play Station 2’s SSX Tricky and Sledstorm, EA Sports BIG products. The Jim Rose Circus has also become a weekly reality TV show The Jim Rose Twisted Tour.
