HOGGBOY ANNOUNCE SOLO SHOWS

SYDNEY & MELBOURNE

Hogg – guitars/vocals • Hugh – guitar

Bailey – bass • Richy – drums

In the words of NME “Hoggboy stand for all that is dirty, dumb and cool about rock ‘n’ roll” - so heads up, because the band are heading down under to show Australia what all the fuss is about.

Previously announced as special guests for The Donnas tour, Hoggboy are now confirmed to perform two extra solo shows – one in Sydney on May 13 at Vic On The Park and one in Melbourne on May 17 at The Tote Hotel.

Hailing from Sheffield, England, Hoggboy’s debut 7 inch sold out on its first day of release and had Radio 1, Channel 4, The Face, NME and Dazed and Confused drooling like oversized St Bernards.

Live, Hoggboy are kick ass attitude, embracing all that personifies rock n roll (smoking, drinking, and girls) and putting on shows that throb with serious rock energy.

Kerrang! declared that Hoggboy are “all sweating attitude as if their life depended on it”, Rocksound announced them “the epitome of cool”, while NME summed up with “gloriously cocky and casually brilliant, Hoggboy will steal your heart.”

Hoggboy perform in Sydney with NZ band Evermore. A Triple J favourite, Evermore were added to high rotation in 2002 and haven’t looked back. In the words of Triple J’s Arnold Frolows, “when I first saw these guys they were so good that I thought that my drink had been spiked.”

In Melbourne Hoggboy perform with locals The Cyclones and Neon. The Cyclones, described as a cross between The Pixies and Oasis, are back from a lengthy injury-induced break and their recent gigs around Melbourne have shown they’ve returned in full force.

While Neon are relative newcomers to the scene they’ve already stirred some substantial interest in the music industry, with many predicting they are a band to watch over the coming years.
