Special Features (Brisbane special guest)
Brisbane 4-piece Special Features are here to remind you what rock is all about: raw, unfiltered energy with a heavy dose of heart. With one foot in gritty alt-rock of the 90s and the other kicking open doors to something fresh, this band is carving out a sound that’s all their own.‘They are as rugged as a cricket ball by the end of a test match and as delicate as a teenager experiencing their first breakup’- Ballpoint Press, 2024.
Special Features aren’t here to play it safe - they’re out to bend the rules and make you feel every ounce of it. Get yourself in a room with them, that’s when it all clicks. This is Australian rock at its rawest, and it’s something you don’t want to miss.
Watch: The Stamps – free my mind (Lyric Video)
The Stamps (Sydney special guest)
Walyalup/Fremantle trio The Stamps (Sofia Hourani, Rubina Bertolini, Scarlett Graham) make coming-of-age indie pop built on lush harmonies and the easy balance of friendship. Their new single Maria is out now, produced by Alex Burnett (Thelma Plum, Hockey Dad) and capturing the immediacy and spark of the band in full flight. The Stamps have already built a reputation for emotional, harmony-driven songs that turn fleeting moments of youth into something cosmic and warm. They are currently on a so-far sold-out national tour, will showcase at BIGSOUND in September, and head to SXSW Sydney in October.
Watch: MID CITY – Old Habits
MID CITY (Melbourne special guest)
MID CITY churn incendiary indie anthems, microwave-ready for a mainstage sing-along. Describe them in 3 words? Hooks, hooks and hooks. Ben Woodmason (guitar) found Joel Griffith (vox) through an irreverent post searching for the ‘greatest showman alive…in 3066.’ With Ben's brother Tim (drums) and good buddy Jimmy Campbell (bass), they set about writing what they'd all wanted to hear but couldn't find: Straight-ahead tunes with energy and relatability. Songs that would connect with an audience looking to love guitar music again. With an impressive live reputation already brewing, the group quickly took off for stages across the globe, slaying sweaty club shows across Germany, the UK and Australia. The band released their debut album Happy Ever After in 2023 and have released tracks including 'Old Habits', 'No Surrender', 'Liar Liar', 'Choc Mint', 'Compromise' and 'Happy Ever After'.
Propelled by the power in their songs and the sense of community fostered amongst loyal fans, join The Lathums on their debut Australian shows and a selection of local artists live on the Wigan Of Oz Tour next month!
