Rico Nasty (USA) announces anticipated Australian return with Sydney & Melbourne headline dates for February 2027

    4 Nov 2026

Frontier Touring is thrilled to welcome 'the rap world's biggest rockstar' Rico Nasty back to Australia this February, with two unmissable nights in Sydney and Melbourne.

Staging her debut headline shows, Rico's return to Australia will also mark her first visit to the country in over seven years. Rico will play Sydney’s Metro Theatre on Tuesday 9 February and Melbourne’s Max Watts on Sunday 14 February, alongside a full run of Laneway 2027 dates.

Frontier Members can access their presale on Thursday 5 November from 11am local time, before tickets go on sale on Friday 6 November from 12pm local time. Tickets and tour information via frontiertouring.com/riconasty.

Scan your favourite playlist and you’ll hear a generation of up-and-coming rappers inspired by Rico’s balance of high-femme trap-pop and nu-metal rage rap. Since her breakthrough as a teenager, the artist born Maria Kelly has remained an iconoclastic presence in the rap game, blending aggressive bars with bubbly melodies, countering her sweet-and-sour Sugar Trap sound with her signature vocal cord shredding mosh-rap.

Known for her own brand of rage-rap and outrageous onstage, online, volume-up persona, her 2018 paradigm-shifting track ‘Smack a B*tch,’ kicked open the doors to a dominant new era of "rapper as a rockstar". Now on her newest project RX, the album is made up of “sonically weird, crazy sounds produced by Kenny Beats and Dylan Brady [of 100gecs],” as Rico describes it today. The songs that emerged from their four months of studio sessions channel the spirit of vintage Rico Nasty: dynamic, funny, and fierce–but most importantly, they do away with the people-pleasing of her past. With wild experiments like 'BUTTHEAD,' 'CUPCAKE,' and 'KISS N MAKE UP,' the result is an ode to her old self: to prescribing confidence, to being yourself, to never changing.

“The high-energy rapper revisits her signature sound… it’s her most focused and satisfying work in years.” – Pitchfork

“There’s something uniquely refreshing about Rico’s performance. Her brand of ‘sugar trap’ is wholly her own and unmatched.” – Variety

“Since her early days as a Maryland teenager uploading aggressive, trap-influenced music on Soundcloud, rapper Rico Nasty has carved out her own unique place as a colourful rager.” – Rolling Stone

Following RX’s July release, Rico teamed up with Magdalena Bay in supporting "The Hayley Williams Show" on sold out dates across the US, joining the Paramore frontperson onstage to perform 2010 hit ‘Airplanes’ by B.o.B – the track’s first live performance in 16 years. Rico has featured on the discographies of countless iconic artists, collaborating with the likes of Doechii, Kali Uchis, Charli xcx and Doja Cat. A multitalented performer, RX was recorded amongst filming Margo’s Got Money Troubles, the Apple TV+ series in which Rico made her long-awaited acting debut alongside Elle Fanning, Nicole Kidman and Michelle Pfeiffer.
