With twelve days to go until the historic Mushroom 50 Live concert, the Mushroom Group is thrilled to announce the biggest show of the year will be broadcast across Australia exclusively on Channel 7 and 7plus from 7:00pm.

Held on Sunday, 26 November at Rod Laver Arena, Mushroom 50 Live will be an event like no other, featuring fifty songs to celebrate fifty years of incredible Australian music.

Mushroom has today unveiled international superstars alt-J, Ed Sheeran, and Garbage will be part the celebration – with exclusive recorded performances to air on the broadcast and on screen at the event.

Also announced today, Australian indie-rock band Youth Group will be joined by Budjerah, Mia Wray and global sensation Sam Smith, for an electrifying recorded performance of the smash hit song ‘Forever Young’.

On top of that, legendary Australian band Goanna has joined the huge Mushroom 50 Live line-up, with the group to include four of the original members. Founded in 1977, Goanna is responsible for songs that helped shape Australia’s identity, including ‘Solid Rock’ which remains a vitally important song, that resonates to this day. Also added to the stacked line-up are three of Mushroom’s most hyped emerging artists WILSN, Lotte Gallagher and Logan.

Mushroom Group Chief Executive, Matt Gudinski, said, “Mushroom 50 Live has been years in the making and our team has pulled together something truly special, that we’re all proud of and we’re thrilled to partner with the Seven Network to bring this once-in-a-lifetime concert to living rooms right across the country.

Mushroom 50 Live spans five decades of iconic Australian music, there’s something for everyone and while we’ve announced a lot, we’re holding a few big surprises close to our chest, with all to be revealed on the night.”

Today’s announcement brings the total number of artists involved in Mushroom 50 Live to thirty-four, with more artists and a cast of celebrity hosts yet to be revealed.

With under two weeks to go, time is running out for fans to secure their chance to witness Australian music history.

Mushroom 50 Live is part of the ALWAYS LIVE 2023 program, a seventeen-day state-wide celebration of contemporary live music supported by the Victoria Government through Visit Victoria.
