MICO | Breakout Canadian star announces debut Australian dates – November 2026

    19 May 2026

Canadian alt-pop breakout MICO today announces his debut Australian headline tour this November, bringing one of music’s fastest-rising new artists to local stages in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne for the first time.

At just 23 years old, the Filipino-Canadian singer – aka Miguel Veloso – has rapidly emerged as one of alt-pop’s most compelling new voices, amassing more than 300 million global streams and cultivating a fiercely loyal online fanbase of over 1.8 million followers worldwide thanks to winsome tracks such as the just-released ‘Like you mean it’ and April’s hyperpop-steeped banger, ‘DREAMBOY’. Inspired by the immediacy of late-2000s pop-punk with modern, genre-jumping production, MICO has built a global audience through deeply personal songwriting, explosive live performances and an authenticity that has resonated with a generation of fans online and off.

It’s been a whirlwind 18 months for MICO, earned a 2026 JUNO Award nomination for ‘Breakthrough Artist or Group of the Year’ after signing with Columbia Records. Selling out headline tours across North America and Europe, today’s tour announcement arrives amid a new creative chapter, MICO also recently named Spotify’s RADAR Canada Artist of the Month.

Now entering his major-label era, MICO is preparing to unveil his debut album When the lights turn on (released June 26), a hook-heavy collection that captures the emotional turbulence of growing up, moving away, relationships, identity and finding connection in an increasingly online world.

Born and raised in Toronto and the fourth of five siblings, MICO’s father filled the house with ’80s pop hits by Michael Jackson and The Police, and when guests came over, the family encouraged the 6-year-old to hop on the karaoke – he didn’t object. From humble beginnings learning guitar chords playing along to 5 Seconds of Summer, Fall Out Boy, and The All-American Rejects, as a teenager MICO began sharing covers on Discord, cultivating a loyal following before pivoting to writing and self-releasing originals starting with debut track ‘who do you love’ in 2019.

Frontier Members can get early access to tickets via the Frontier Member presale, which starts Wednesday 20 May (12pm local), before tickets go on sale on Thursday 21 May (12pm local time). See frontiertouring.com/mico for full information.

With streaming numbers soaring globally and international demand continuing to grow, MICO’s first Australian tour marks the arrival of an artist rapidly transitioning from online phenomenon to genuine global breakout star. Don’t miss him!
