Newcastle: Newcastle local Conflikt recently released his third EP, Good Mourning. Inspired by hip hop and jazz, and refusing to be boxed in, he pushes the boundaries of his artistry with each new track. Conflikt might label himself “Australia’s most introverted rapper”, but he’s busy building new sonic worlds with every lyric and beat.
Canberra: The style of Canberra punkers Sonic Reducer can be best described as 2007-style sleaze punk with a dash of Iggy and a sprinkle of David Byrne. From supports across Europe with Royel Otis, and currently on the road alongside Teen Jesus and The Jean Teasers, you can check them out on triple j Unearthed via recent single ‘I Know (In The End)’.
Brisbane & Melbourne: Born in Zimbabwe, raised in the UK and now residing in Brisbane, Kye hasn’t stopped to take a breath in 2026. From hitting the stage at Party In the Paddock alongside Peking Duck to following up her excellent Kylie’s Rant EP, which features the excellent ‘Gospel’, Kye’s unique sounds bridges R&B, pop, and a whole lot more.
Sydney: Born in Aotearoa and based in Eora, Devaura burst into the scene in 2023 and immediately gained a cult following thanks to her unique style and authentic storytelling, earning accolades aplenty including a win in triple j’s 2025 Laneway competition. Her songs explore themes of love, loss, and self-discovery, captivating fans with her ethereal vocals and innovative soundscapes – as heard on ‘Dancehead’.
Adelaide: Fusing post-punk and noise rock is Kaurna-based outfit The Empty Threats, heard on second album, 2025’s Happy Birthday. Whether performing at London’s Rough Trade or taking out Best Live Act at the 2023 National Live Music Awards, they unapologetically lean into radical authenticity, inspired by bands such as Tropical F*ck Storm to Kraftwerk.
Perth: Riding a wave of momentum following their debut album If Only You Knew is powerhouse duo And Beyond, aka brothers I’m The Phantom (vox) and Zytgyst (production). Single ‘Spiced Rum (Party)’ featured in the latest season of Netflix’s Heartbreak High, while ‘Nonchalant’ is another high energy anthem.
Bold, uncompromising and entirely in a lane of his own, Owusu is one of Australia’s most vital live acts. With new music imminent and his ever-shifting creative vision in full flight, don’t miss Genesis Owusu when he returns with a brand-new live era.
