Frontier Touring is thrilled to announce the audacious return of Scottish rock band Franz Ferdinand to Australia this November and December, in support of their sixth studio album The Human Fear.

‘The Human Fear’ is a deeply fun record that radiates vivacity - Uncut 8*

The sound of ‘The Human Fear’ suggests a band still brimming with ambition - DIY 4.5*

Last touring Australia in 2018, the multi-platinum selling band will bring their revered live show to Perth’s Red Hill Auditorium on Wednesday 26 November, Brisbane’s Riverstage on Saturday 29 November, and Anita’s Theatre in Thirroul (NSW) on Tuesday 2 December.

The band will also play Live At The Gardens, Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne on Friday 28 November and On The Steps at Sydney Opera House Forecourt on Wednesday 3 December. They will be supported on all shows by local special guests Teenage Dads and Delivery except for Thirroul, which will feature support from Delivery only.

Released in January to widespread acclaim, The Human Fear showcases Franz Ferdinand at their most immediate, upbeat and life-affirming. Produced with Mark Ralph, who previously worked with them on their 2013 album Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action, the new album is unashamedly going for the pop-jugular in classic Franz style, as displayed with singles ‘Night Or Day’, ‘Audacious’ and ‘Bar Lonely’.

Ever since their beginnings, throwing illegal parties in condemned Glasgow buildings, Franz Ferdinand have been defined by a fresh, unfading, forward-facing outlook, a transgressive art-school perspective, but with a love of a big song and The Human Fear undoubtedly continues in this tradition. This is the first studio album to feature members Audrey Tait and Dino Bardot and sees Julian Corrie step forward to collaborate with Alex Kapranos and Bob Hardy on song writing and creative duties. Recorded at AYR studios in Scotland, the 11-songs on The Human Fear all allude to some deep-set human fears and how overcoming and accepting these fears drives and defines our lives.

Franz Ferdinand signed with Domino in 2003 and soon after released their second single ‘Take Me Out’, catapulting them onto the international stage and landing the number one spot in the Triple J Hottest 100 (2004). Now, more than two decades into their career, their music continues to resonate worldwide. Both commercially and critically acclaimed, Franz Ferdinand have become one of the UK’s most successful bands, with over 10 million albums sold, 2.5 billion streams, 14 platinum certifications, and a string of prestigious accolades including Brit, Ivor Novello, and Mercury Prize awards, along with multiple Grammy nominations and two ARIA top 10 albums. They've sold over 6 million tickets globally, known for their electrifying live shows, and have headlined major festivals including Reading, Leeds, Primavera, Big Day Out, Splendour In The Grass and Falls Festival. In 2022, they released Hits to the Head, a greatest hits compilation that serves as a powerful reminder of the global appeal and enduring popularity of their music.

With a string of successful singles, EPs, and the Michael Gudinski Breakthrough Artist ARIA award under their belt, Teenage Dads released their highly anticipated debut full length MAJORDOMO in August 2024. The album debuted at #1 on the Australian album chart and saw the group tour extensively, playing their largest headline Australian tour, EU/UK and US headline shows, as well as a main support slot for Dayglow on his North American tour. Teenage Dads also made festival appearances at Laneway and The Great escape (UK), ending the year with Lost Paradise and Beyond the Valley, and a nomination for Best Australian Live Act of the Year at the 2024 J Awards.

Melbourne garage-punk group Delivery have spent the last few years marking themselves as one of the hardest and fastest working bands in town – with two album releases, two 7-inch releases, spots at Golden Plains and Latitude, four tours of Europe including an arena run with The Vaccines, and a nod from NPR as one of their favourite bands at SXSW Texas. Their debut album Forever Giving Handshakes was a definitive opening statement from the 5-piece and their highly anticipated 2025 follow-up album, Force Majeure, has received widespread acclaim, with Rolling Stone Australia including them on their esteemed Future of Music 2025 list.
