The Frontier Touring Company is pleased to announce the Australian debut of UK sensation Mika this June. Heading to Australia for a brief promotional tour for his fabulous album Life in Cartoon Motion, Mika will take time out to perform an intimate one-off show at the Forum in Sydney.

A songwriter, performer, producer and an orchestrator, the multitalented Mika has ridden the wave of success so far this year. His breakthrough single ‘Grace Kelly’ thrust him onto the world’s music stage in fine fashion. Topping the charts in eight countries, including the UK and Italy, the single peaked at #2 on Australia’s ARIA chart. It also spent 4 weeks at #1 on the Digital Track Chart. Mika’s current single ‘Love Today’ is at radio now and is destined to replicate Grace Kelly’s success.

The triumphs have continued for Mika as his album, Life in Cartoon Motion follows his chart-topping trend. Reaching number one in the UK, France, Norway, Greece and Estonia and making the top five in New Zealand, Canada and Ireland, Life in Cartoon Motion also peaked at #13 in Australia.

Observer Music Monthly gushed: “Life in Cartoon Motion is so exuberant, so accomplished, so crazysexycool that it's all a little overwhelming.”

And People Magazine proclaimed: “Multitalented Mika comes to pop’s rescue with a vibrant debut album.”

Mika’s live show is similarly impressive and just as highly regarded. Ultra-camp and theatrical, it’s not a stretch to compare Mika to the Scissor Sisters, Elton John and even Freddie Mercury as he leaves you feeling truly euphoric. Of a recent performance, Gigwise said: “The thing is his music works, and it works spectacularly. After all, we were grinning pretty much all night: a bewildered, idiotic and massive grin.”

Mika is a star fast on the rise and this show is guaranteed to sell out. So get your tickets quick!

The Frontier Touring Company is pleased to announce that local Sydney band Sparkadia have the honours of supporting Mika at his only Australian show this June.

Sparkadia’s melodic pop has won them many a fan in recent years. Their latest EP Things Behind The Sun features the super catchy ‘Morning Light’ a huge hit on national youth broadcaster Triple J.

The foursome have just completed work on their debut album. Recorded in London at the Miloco Studio complex (Oasis, Bloc Party, Arctic Monkeys) and produced by the highly renowned Ben Hillier (Doves, Blur, Depeche Mode, Elbow), the album is sure to further draw Australians under Sparkadia’s spell.

Sparkadia return to Sydney later this week and are keen to get back on stage. Their upcoming appearance with Mika at the Forum on June 2 will be your first chance to hear the fruits of their studio efforts in the Mother Country. So make sure you’re there!
