Snakadaktal

Snakadaktal

Audiences in Sydney and Melbourne will be treated to the sounds of indie pop quintet Snakadaktal. Hailing from Melbourne’s leafy outer suburbs, this band of friends have been making waves since winning triple j’s Unearthed High competition and single ‘Air’ placing #22 in the triple j Hottest 100.

Their self titled EP balanced the delicate vocals of lead singers Sean and Phoebe with the exceptional musicianship of Barna, Joseph and Jarrah.

Snakadaktal recently headed into the studio to work on their highly anticipated debut album which is due for release in August this year and will show music lovers everywhere exactly what they're capable of. On stage, the band is just as impressive;

“One word that has always applied to this indie pop group, and will continue to in the years to come, is genius – which their energetic live performance made all the more obvious.”
- FasterLouder

City Calm Down

City Calm Down

Melbourne four-piece City Calm Down, who supported alt-J (?) at their Sydney headline show earlier this year, clearly impressed both audiences and the band.

Their EP Movements (out now through I OH YOU) is a dark pop electronic based release with an infusion of modern day pop hooks and is the result of the band bunkering down for three years to hone their sound and perfect their skills. These killer tracks will be on display across all of alt-J (?)’s Australian performances.

“City Calm Down are making music far beyond their years, and with the quality of music they’re producing currently, it would be worth keeping an eye on them.” 8/10 - Tonedeaf

ALT-J (∆)
ANNOUNCE BIGGEST AUSTRALIAN HEADLINE TOUR TO DATE!

The Frontier Touring Company are delighted to confirm that acclaimed British outfit alt-J (∆) will be returning to Australia this July, continuing their love affair with our beautiful country.

This tour will see the band playing their biggest Australian shows to date and heading west to play their very first headline performance in Perth.

It is clear that alt-J (∆)’s love for Australia is mutual – their Mercury prize winning debut An Awesome Wave (out now through Liberator Music) has been certified gold by ARIA and achieved its highest chart placement globally in Australia, peaking at #9 on the album chart earlier this year.

Adding to the critical acclaim and commercial success, tracks from An Awesome Wave made three appearances in Triple J’s Hottest 100 countdown of 2012, including an impressive 3rd place finish with Breezeblocks, a song described by NME as ‘a delicate, macabre triumph’.

The band featured as part of Laneway Festival this year, performing to packed out crowds across Australia and gaining a whole new legion of fans along the way. Their set left critics raving and the swelling crowds hypnotised, singing and swaying in unison.

Whilst in the country, alt-J (∆) announced a surprise headline show at Sydney’s Metro Theatre. In a similar fashion to their debut Australian performances in October last year, the show sold out in minutes. Those lucky enough to attend were treated to an intimate and polished set from the quartet:

‘From the sync’d lighting to the seamless audio, the band were in their element, flawlessly shifting from song to song without batting an eyelash, the crowd equally mesmerised and in a state of sub-hypnosis.’ – Drum Media

‘The guys have a rep for being perfectionists and it both shows and pays off in their live show. As the set navigated all of Mercury-winner An Awesome Wave's tracks, the carefully crafted choral harmonies and perfectly plucked melodies landed just right with the crowd.’ – Time Out Sydney

With alt-J (∆)’s dedicated and loyal Australian following, and a tradition of selling out their shows in minutes, best be quick to snap up your tickets to see these incredibly talented music makers at work.
