Dan Sultan

Dan Sultan

After releasing his highly acclaimed and award-winning album Blackbird earlier this year, Dan Sultan has not been sitting idle. With a new solo EP, Dirty Ground, due for release on November 7 this year, the Mushroom Free For All will be one of the first times audiences get to hear brand new music from Sultan.

British India

British India

With a brand new single, Wrong Direction, spinning on national radio, it’s safe to say we can expect another long player from British India early in 2015. The Mushroom Free-For-All could see the band test out their new material to a hometown crowd along with their extensive back catalogue of hits.

Husky

Husky

A body of work that can simply be described as stunning, Husky have recently released their album Ruckers Hill. The title comes from the hill behind Northcote in Melbourne, so it’s only fitting that the band enjoys it with a Melbourne audience at MCA before they kick off their massive national album tour.

Lanie Lane

Lanie Lane

Melbourne chanteuse Lanie Lane rose to dizzying heights after the release of her debut album To The Horses. The award winning songwriter is now back, and her new record Night Shade has been released via Ivy League Records TODAY! Experience the incredible new material live at MCA.

CUP EVE ALL-AGES PREMIERE EVENT at the brand new MARGARET COURT ARENA! DON'T MISS YOUR FREE TICKETS FOR THIS STELLAR LOCAL LINE UP:

DAN SULTAN, BRITISH INDIA, HUSKY & LANIE LANE

This year, on Melbourne Cup Eve, Frontier Touring and Mushroom are teaming up with beyondblue and Melbourne Park for a special Mushroom Free For All concert celebrating local music and giving back to the people of this fine city at Melbourne’s newest venue - Margaret Court Arena (at Melbourne Park). The opening of the reinvigorated space will see some of Australia’s most popular and acclaimed new generation artists take the stage: Dan Sultan, British India, Husky and Lanie Lane.

The venue’s premiere event will allow for punters of all ages to come along for FREE to the brand new space, and listen to some of the country’s best musical offerings while there.

Those attending the event will be able to support the tireless work of beyondblue – volunteers will be present with collection tins throughout the venue to accept your generous donations which will help to reduce the impact of anxiety and depression on individuals, families and carers, and society as a whole.

The recently redeveloped Margaret Court Arena (MCA) is a dynamic new arena located in the iconic Melbourne Park precinct and is an exciting edition to Melbourne’s already incredible live music scene. With capacity ranging between 3,000 to 7,500, the venue will be versatile enough to treat artists and fans to intimate concert experiences as well as an electric atmosphere. With exciting international acts including Sam Smith, Billy Idol and Yellowcard already booked to play the venue, the Mushroom Free For All will allow punters to check out the state of the art space before anyone else.

The bill will showcase some of the country’s most exciting artists, from across the Mushroom labels and all from Melbourne. Husky and Lanie Lane have released new albums within the last two weeks, with both garnering critical acclaim, and Dan Sultan and British India have new releases on the horizon and those attending will be amongst the first to hear the new material.

Local community radio PBS 106.7FM and RRR 102.7FM are supporting the Mushroom Free For All concert in their usual tradition of loyalty and support for local Australian talent.

Your Cup Day Eve celebration is now organised as Frontier Touring, Mushroom, beyondblue and Melbourne Park throw an awesome FREE party without any of the usual school night guilt! Capacity at the Mushroom Free For All is strictly limited, so book your tickets to ensure entry to this one-off event.

Frontier Touring and mushroom.com members gain first access to these tickets from Monday 27 October at 10am AEDT before they become available to the general public from 10am AEDT next Tuesday 28 October. With seating at this event reserved, ensure you get in quick to secure the best (FREE!) seats in the house.
