Sophia Stel announces Sydney + Melbourne headline shows
25 Aug 2026‘Ethereal electro-pop elegance’ – NME
‘Pure yearning poignancy’ – The Guardian
‘Hits you square in the chest’ – The FADER
‘Stel is not striving to be larger than life; she is trying to reflect it’ – DAZED
Just announced on the Meredith 2026 lineup and hailed as one of alt-pop’s most exciting new voices, Vancouver artist and producer Sophia Stel today announces two exclusive headline shows in Melbourne and Sydney this December.
Fresh from a breakout 12 months that has seen her emerge as a global artist-to-watch, the multi-disciplinary singer arrives on our shores riding the momentum of the playful, self-produced ‘Molly In The Club’, and latest single ‘Now I’ve Got A Lot You Know’, just released via A24 Music.
Currently working on her debut album, Stel has quickly become one of pop’s most compelling new voices. Born in Victoria, B.C., Stel found a rapt cult fanbase with her 2024 debut EP Object Permanence, a fiercely vulnerable collection of genre-agnostic earworms fuelled by her full-bodied, affecting alto. Stel reached new heights with 2025’s How to Win At Solitaire, written, produced and recorded in a makeshift basement studio beneath now-closed DIY venue Paradise, where she used to work. The deluxe edition spawned viral favourite ‘I’ll Take It’, earning co-signs from Troye Sivan and A.G. Cook, while collaborations with Mura Masa, Tommy Genesis and Cecile Believe further cemented her rising status.
Following a slot opening for Lorde at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum in March and a 22-date EU/US headline run, Stel has earned acclaim from Pitchfork, DAZED, The FADER, CRACK Magazine, CLASH, Pigeons & Planes, Gorilla vs. Bear and Hearing Things. Along the way, she has graced the covers of NME and The Face, walked for Ann Demeulemeester at Paris Fashion Week, performed at Pitchfork Festival Paris, and appeared in campaigns for Palace Skateboards.
Stel will perform at Melbourne venue The Night Cat on Thursday 10 December, followed by Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory on Saturday 12 December. Get early access to tickets via the Frontier Members presale, which starts Wednesday 26 August (12pm local time). Tickets will then go on sale Thursday 27 August (1pm local time) – see frontiertouring.com/sophiastel for full tour and ticketing information.
Continuing to push the boundaries of today’s music landscape while honing in on a truly singular, sound that’s all her own, don’t miss the chance to catch Sophia Stel at these special shows this summer.
