Miss Blanks

Miss Blanks

SYD & BRIS SHOWS ONLY

In just over 12 months since her debut single, ‘Clap Clap’, Miss Blanks has quickly established herself as one of the most important new voices among the Australian music landscape. With fire music, hot style, and a stage presence like no other, she is blowing up the scene in a way that’s too loud for people to ignore.

She released her debut EP, ‘Diary Of A THOTaholic’ in November 2017 on Trench Records. Acting as co-producer on D.O.A.T., she has begun to take more control of her fledgling yet ferocious style, as she makes a conscious and calculated effort to establish herself as much more than just hype act.

Other accolades include supporting international stars like Little Simz (UK) and Dai Burger (NYC), as well as playing spots on prestigious festivals like Vivid, Dark Mofo, Bigsound, Listen Out, The Plot, Meredith Music Festival, Laneway Festival, and more.

Chela

Chela

MELB SHOW ONLY

Chela is an Australian/Filipino artist, musician, songwriter, producer, and filmmaker originally from Fremantle, Western Australia.

She began producing music on Logic software and writing rap breakdowns for her sister’s songs at age 12. Some time thereafter 'Chela' (a longstanding nickname) was born, self-releasing her first single ‘Plastic Gun’, co-produced with Ben Ely (Regurgitator) and receiving airplay on Australian national radio. In 2014 Chela performed at SXSW, Coachella and supported Classixx and The Presets on their North American tours.

She has also collaborated with several music groups, including Goldroom on his summer-anthem ‘Fifteen’, Clubfeet on their highly-rotated single ‘Heartbreak’, and queer pop-punk cult hero Seth Bogart on his debut self-titled solo album alongside Kathleen Hanna and Tavi Gevinson. In 2017 Chela released ‘Bad Habit’ via NPR, a single recorded with Chris Zane (Passion Pit, Holy Ghost!, Les Savy Fav) at The Dairy Studios in Brixton. She is gearing up to release her debut EP in 2018.

CHANNEL TRES announces debut Australian shows this November

11 Jul 2018

Debut Australian shows this November

WITH SPECIAL GUESTS
MISS BLANKS (Syd & Bris) and CHELA (Melb)

Frontier Touring, Soothsayer and I OH YOU are thrilled to confirm debut Australian performances for LA artist Channel Tres in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane this November. In advance of his self-titled EP out July 27 via Godmode (Yaeji, Shamir), Channel delivers new single ‘Jet Black’, another taste of his unorthodox union of four-on-the-floor and Compton.

'Jet Black' is an oozy ode to the blackest of black over a ferocious modular synth that takes cues from industrial and early electro. Directed by cult filmmaker Anthony Sylvester, the accompanying video captures Channel’s hometown of Compton at its most contorted, where barbershops double as churches and liquor stores become after-hour raves.

The new track follows on from Channel’s imposing debut ‘Controller’. With an effortlessly deep voice, as if Barry White didn’t realise he was Barry White, Channel took classic Detroit house and reimagined it with the surly attitude of West Coast rap. Pitchfork, NPR, Gorilla vs. Bear, BBC Radio 1, Spotify, Apple Music, and KCRW were early champions and the track claimed the #1 position on the Spotify Viral chart in Australia.

‘...commanding first impression..’ - Pitchfork

‘..unmissable artist..’ - Pigeons and Planes

‘..hypnotic..’ - Earmilk

Performing at Howler in Melbourne, Woolly Mammoth in Brisbane and Oxford Art Factory in Sydney, Channel will deliver a mesmerising mix of music and movement. Backed by a vibrant dance troupe, this production is set to be one of the most highly anticipated tours of the year.
