BRIDGET EVERETT & MURRAY HILL return to Australia in June for NYC comedy and cabaret icons supershow!

26 Apr 2017

RETURN TO AUSTRALIA IN JUNE FOR A NYC COMEDY AND CABARET ICONS SUPERSHOW!

The crowned Queen, Bridget Everett, and (drag) “King of Comedy” (TimeOut), Murray Hill, of New York Cabaret, respectively dubbed “one of the funniest people in New York" by Time Out New York, and one of “Fifty Most Iconic Gender Benders of All Time” by New York Magazine, are finally joining forces to tour down under this June!

The pair of breathtakingly hilarious nightlife legends are returning to our shores off the back of their last visits where Murray (Real Housewives of New York, Bored To Death) starred in Dita Von Teese’s sold-out Australian tour and hosted Club SWIZZLE at Sydney Opera House, and Bridget (Inside Amy Schumer, Two Broke Girls, Sex and The City) won hearts and blew minds in a knee-trembling appearance at the Sydney Mardi Gras Comedy Festival.

Rolling two special shows into one, the pair will hit Melbourne’s Yarraville Club on Wednesday 7 June and Brisbane Powerhouse for Queensland Cabaret Festival on Thursday 8 June. Adelaide Cabaret Festival will be treated to an encore performance of Bridget’s acclaimed solo show Pound It on Friday 9 and Saturday 10 June whilst Murray will host Backstage Club Week 1 from Friday 9 June to Sunday 11 June.

NYC legend, comedian, host, and international entertainer Murray Hill, is Mr. Showbiz.  He’s a relentless shtick slinger, larger-than-life personality and freewheeling ad-libber. He tours the U.S. with burlesque superstar Dita Von Teese and recently hosted her historic sold-out Australian tour. He’s performed two seasons at The Sydney Opera House starring in Club SWIZZLE which went on to tour major festivals. He starred in his own pop culture show on MTV entitled SHOWBIZ and was U.S. Showbiz Correspondent for Channel 4 in UK. Other television appearances include: TLC’s LI Medium, LOGO’s New Now Next and Cocktails & Classics, HBO’s Bored to Death, HBO’s Taxi Cab Confessions, BRAVO’s Real Housewives of New York and music videos for Peaches, TV On The Radio, The Regrettes, Bridget Everett and Gossip.

The New York Times anointed Murray “Downtown’s New ‘It’ Boy.” He’s been included in “Best of New York” lists in the Village Voice, Time Out, PAPER, New York Magazine; inducted into PAPER’s Nightlife Hall of Fame; selected as OUT magazine’s Top 100 influential performers twice; PAPER’s “Top Ten ‘It’ Boys in NYC Nightlife History,” and named one of the Top 12 gender-bending performers in NYC by Time Out.

‘The ultimate consummate nightclub performer.’ - The New York Times (US)

‘He is a bundle of fast-talking, fun-loving energy, and he ensures that there is not a dull millisecond...I defy anybody to keep a straight face during one of Hill’s spots.’ - Broadway World

‘Murray Hill - in case you’ve never been lucky enough to catch his show - is old school showbiz, pure and simple. He’s gin martinis, expensive cigars and fancy suits. He’s laugh-out-loud hilarious.’ - Flavorpill (US)

Bridget Everett has appeared at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Tenacious D’s  Festival Supreme, HBO’s Aspen Comedy Arts Festival, Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, and Montreal and Chicago’s Just For Laughs Festivals.

Her film, theatre and television credits include Inside Amy Schumer, Two Broke Girls, Sex And The City, Trainwreck,  Girls and the off-Broadway smash Rock Bottom. Her live television special Bridget Everett – Gynecological Wonder premiered on Comedy Central, and she can also be seen featured on the hit Netflix show Lady Dynamite.  She is the star of the upcoming films Little Evil, Fun Mom Dinner and the Sundance hit Patticake$.  This spring she will star in her own comedy tv series, Love You More for Amazon, which she also co-wrote.

★★★★ ½ ‘Uninhibited, unapologetic and literally in your face, Bridget Everett is a psychotic cyclone of cabaret gold.’ - The Music

★★★★ ‘Her voice is glorious, her timing is killer...you won’t be able to take your eyes off her.’ - Herald Sun

Join “New York’s ambassador of good humour and master of the quick repartee” (Paper, US) Murray Hill, in a double-headline extravaganza with the Village Voice’s “most exciting performer in New York City" and absolute force of nature, Bridget Everett in an unforgettable night of pure showbiz pizzazz this June!
