UK sensation Aqualung is one of the most honest, compelling acts to emerge from the UK in recent years. So it is with great pleasure that The Frontier Touring Company confirms the news that Aqualung will perform headline shows in Melbourne and Sydney this June! The shows are additional to Aqualung’s support of Evermore on the band’s forthcoming national tour.

Englishman Matt Hales is the brains and voice behind Aqualung. On this tour, he’ll be treating fans to material from his stunning new album Memory Man (SonyBMG), which has been received adoringly by fans and showered in praise by critics.

“Like David Gray with a taste for the dark side, Aqualung takes his starkly beautiful tunes and twists them until they’re strange, fractured and sticky-taped back together in uncommon, yet still beautiful ways.” Herald Sun

“Memory Man will be one of the strongest efforts released in 2007.” Lost At Sea

“There is a certain down-to-earth charm inherent in Hales that his peers often lack.” All Music Guide

In the live arena, Aqualung offers up a whole new experience for fans. From concert halls with 17 people onstage to grand pianos in art galleries, Hales has done it all, and is always in top form onstage.

“The rest of the band didn’t even return for the encore. Instead, they left Hales and his piano to close the gig with a haunting rendition of ‘Strange and Beautiful’, a reassuring sign that despite so much experimentation and indeed, progression, the Aqualung we know and love remains.” Wessex Scene

On his Australian tour Hales will treat fans to intimate, acoustic shows with the help of his brother Ben.

Don’t miss this opportunity to experience a truly unique performance from a remarkable artist in an intimate setting.
