After announcing his first Australian live shows in over 10 years, Grammy nominated electronic artist Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs today reveals four exciting local Aussie acts as special guests on upcoming When The Lights Go tour dates for May 2023. Joining the run of shows are: 1tbsp (Brisbane); LEX (Melbourne); Montana (Perth); and BRIA (Sydney).  New Zealand special guests to be announced very soon.

When The Lights Go (2022) is the second album from Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, and his latest single ‘Regulate’ with Redlight (2023) out now via Defected Records.

Tickets for all cities are on sale now via frontiertouring.com/teedinosaurs.

1tbsp is an indie-house/dance project from local Brisbane artist Maxwell Byrne, who is more commonly known for his work as Golden Vessel. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Ross From Friends, Four Tet and Mall Grab, 1tbsp’s recent singles ‘Four Tet Is My Godmother’ (2023) and ‘No Nein’ (2023) pay homage to the electronic heavyweights who influence his sound. His debut four-track EP titled kanashī (2021) features hit track ‘Calico’ and was released via self-owned label Sumoclic. The EP was met with much praise and attention from fans and music curators around the world, collecting over 2.2 million streams to date on Spotify. He followed this up with two double-singles – ‘Dhollandia // Circles’ & ‘Stay Up // Rest’ – before expanding his DJ performances into festival shows, supporting the likes of Young Franco, BAYNK and daste. on their Australian tours, and releasing his captivating sophomore EP Joan (2022) and the newly released It’s Very Loud EP (2023).  1tbsp will support Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs at The Triffid, Brisbane, on Tuesday 9 May.

Melbourne based DJ, radio host and producer LEX is one of the most developed names in Australian underground dance music. Her eclectic playlisting of old funk and bizarre disco has seen her perform national tours at club nights – including a recent sold out show at Oxford Art Factory – and festivals, including Splendour in the Grass, Falls Festival, Groovin the Moo, Lost Paradise, Output, Yours & Owls and Two/4 Festival. She has previously supported the likes of Omar S, Willaris K, Baba Stiltz, Bradley Zero, Mall Grab, DJ Boring, Brame & Hamo and Peggy Gou, and has hosted mixes for triple j, FBi Radio, Rinse FM and Red Light Radio. She currently hosts Club Ex Ex – the most popular show on community radio station Nomad Radio – and has her debut EP incoming on Gallery Recs. LEX will support Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs at 170 Russell, Melbourne, on Thursday 11 May.

BRIA is a Sydney based DJ and the host of Thursday Lunch on FBi Radio. She draws from a wide set of influences and communities, emphasizing diversity across her selections and the musicians behind them. BRIA is attracted to a harmonious (and sometimes not) collection of different genres, joyful and energised cuts. You can expect a mixture of big basslines, rhythmic percussion, breaks and catchy samples. She’s fresh from a debut Boiler Room set (watch HERE) and is becoming a regular name in the Sydney dance community. BRIA will support Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs at Manning Bar, Sydney, on Friday 12 May.

Montana is a Perth based DJ, producer, radio host on Skylab Radio and founder of the beloved Personal Space mix series. While her sets often take you through many different genres, one element clearly remains central: her gift for storytelling within both dancefloor and listening contexts. Montana's musical world blends records from every era – 80s synth pop and old-school house cuts swerve seamlessly through clusters of blissed-out trip hop, street soul, breaks, new wave, Balearic beat and delicate musical textures. Montana is an avid music collector, always searching for lost obscurities to pair alongside contemporary club cuts to aid towards feelings of togetherness, nostalgia & positivity on the dance floor. Montana will support Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs at Rosemount Hotel, Perth, on Saturday 13 May.
