    Frontier Touring are thrilled to welcome US indie favourites The Head and the Heart back to Australia this January, with the platinum-selling six-piece set to play intimate theatre headline shows in Brisbane and ThirroulAlready announced as touring the country alongside long-time friends The Lumineersthe band will take time out for these two special headline dates, giving fans a rare up-close chance to experience the unmistakable harmonies and infectious live energy that have made the band global live favourites. 

    Fifteen years into their career, the band arrive down under riding high with a renewed creative spark, captured on their self-produced sixth studio album Aperture, released in May. Rolling Stone hailed it as “their best album in years, critics praising the band’s reinvigorated sound, as heard on lead single ‘Arrow.  

    Throughout 2025, the band have road-tested Aperture in style – a run of North American dates, performing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, a set with the Seattle Symphony, a baseball stadium show in their Seattle hometown with The Lumineers. New songs have quickly become live favourites, with co-founder Jonathan Russell reflecting to SPIN magazine: “It’s already feeling much more connected and richer and more spiritual … We feel like a fresh band that’s really hungry, which is an exciting feeling.” 

    Touring their previous release, 2022’s Every Shade of Blue, Russell realised the band’s creative centre needed a rebuild. After more than a decade of platinum singles, shifting responsibilities and life changes, he’d taken on most of the songwriting; that all changed with ApertureInstead, the group opened upeach member shaping songs from the ground up. The result is the band’s most affirming and vital album to date.  

    After Australia, THATH head back to the US to join GRAMMY-winner Brandi Carlile on her February tour, but for now these headline shows offer a rare chance for fans to see the band at peak creative strength. With an energised live show, a widely acclaimed new album, and a year of career-defining performances behind them, The Head and the Heart return to Australia bigger, brighter and bolder than ever before.
