Mitch James (NZ) announces special guest Cassie Henderson (NZ) for upcoming Australian east coast headline tour The Long Road Home

    1 May 2023

After announcing his first ever world tour that will see him play 50 shows across 15 countries, New Zealand singer, songwriter and guitarist Mitch James has revealed special guest New Zealand’s Cassie Henderson will join him on all Australian dates of The Long Road Home tour this June.

“I’m absolutely stoked to be opening for Mitch on the Aussie leg of his world tour. I love his music and really look up to him, so I’m still trying to wrap my head around how this has happened. It’s also my first time playing in Australia so I can’t wait to get over!” - Cassie Henderson

Kicking off next month, the Australian leg of The Long Road Home Tour starts Friday 9 June at The Whalers Hotel Warnambool, followed by two further Victorian shows on Saturday 10 June at The Workers Club, Melbourne and Sunday 11 June at HABA, Rye.  The tour then heads to New South Wales on Wednesday 14 June playing La La La’s, Wollongong, Thursday 15 June at The Lansdowne, Sydney, Friday 16 June at The Cambridge Hotel, Newcastle, Saturday 17 June at The Northern Hotel, Byron Bay before a final show on Monday 19 June at The Brightside, Brisbane.

Cassie Henderson made waves in the public eye as a 14-year-old contestant on New Zealand’s first season of X-Factor in 2014. Since then, she has earned her place on the world stage of music and established a brand in her own right. With an EP on the horizon and three singles;  ‘complacent’, ‘Burns Brighter’ and ‘Tainted’ collectively generating early two million streams, it seems that this is just the beginning for Henderson!  Cassie’s new single ‘Whatever’ is set for release June 2.

With debut single, ‘Tainted’, proving her place as a natural storyteller, Cassie’s distinctive voice envelops and invites you into her lyrical world. Her narratives encompass her years of growth, trials and triumphs and ultimately speak to the young people of her generation – musically and personally.

Music is at the heart of what Cassie does and with a collection of some of her most intimate and honest pieces, she has developed a live show which feels so personal that you could be catching up with an old friend.

Wherever you are in the world, keep your eyes locked on Cassie Henderson, who leads the charge in refreshing singer/songwriter pop.
