Joji – born George Kusonoki Miller – began as YouTube sketch comedy content creator and has since become one of the industry’s most enthralling and enigmatic artists. In 2017, leaving his comedy roots to pursue music full time under the stage name Joji, he began releasing music under label 88rising, revealing a lo-fi, serious yet soothing sound, instantly beloved by fans.

Debut album Ballads 1 (2018) hit No.1 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart on release, well and truly separating Joji from his characters of the past. With the album largely written and produced by Joji himself, second single ‘SLOW DANCING IN THE DARK’ reached 5x Platinum status in the US, Gold in the UK and Platinum in Australia.

“His new album under the name Joji might be evidence of one of the greatest transformations in modern pop culture…Ballads 1 is elegiac and prettily pout-faced” – Rolling Stone

Releasing 2020 project Nectar which featured viral tracks ‘Gimme Love’, ‘Like You Do’ and ‘Afterthought’ with New Zealand’s Benee, Joji’s star continued to rise, generating over 100 million streams per track as he toured the world with his anthemic repertoire. The album, which was executive produced and arranged by Joji, claimed No.1 on the ARIA Album Chart on release and peaked at No.3 on the Billboard 200 Album Chart.

2022 saw hit single ‘Glimpse of Us’, from Joji’s latest album SMITHEREENS – the most streamed album on Spotify globally in the week of release – take the world by storm. Joining Spotify’s Billions Club, receiving over 1 billion worldwide streams, ‘Glimpse of Us’ reached No.1 in seven countries including Australia and New Zealand as well as attaining 2x Platinum status in Australia and Platinum in the US. With Clash hailing it as “a stunning piano ballad”, the song will forever define Joji’s career, catapulting him into the spotlight.

"Anyone familiar with Joji's dulcet tones and emotionally revealing lyricism could have predicted that he'd become a solo star." – Billboard

“From commandeering the wave of lo-fi tinted trap and hip hop in the late 2010s to cementing himself as an alt pop heavy hitter, Joji consistently reinvents himself and truly proves himself as one of the most interesting artists in the alternative, ‘anti’ pop sphere.” – Clash

In 2023, Joji continues to take his ethereal music to the world, touring at home and abroad to incredible reception from fans and critics alike. In what will be Joji’s first headline tour of Australia and New Zealand, the global hit-maker will finally touch down this November for a series of unmissable shows – this will be one for the history books!
