Frontier Touring and presenting partner AAMI are thrilled to bring one of Australia’s favourite entertainers, Jimmy Rees, back to the stage in 2023, with his 12-date, Australia-wide Not That Kinda Viral Tour, all kicking off this August!

“I'm really excited to announce the Not That Kinda Viral tour. There was so much love for my first comedy tour, I was inspired to work on a new show and get silly all over again. There's been so much new content since then that I want to get out and have some fun with.” - Jimmy Rees

Covering all corners of Australia, Jimmy will visit Melbourne, Canberra, Wollongong, Sydney, Newcastle, Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Darwin and Hobart throughout August – November!

Frontier Members pre-sale commences Monday 8 May across staggered times from 1pm AEST before the general public on sale kicks off Wednesday 10 May from 1pm AEST across staggered times.  Check below for show specific timings.  Tickets via

The Not That Kinda Viral tour follows on from Jimmy’s hugely successful 2022 Meanwhile In Australia tour. What started out as 5 shows became 35 sold-out shows (including 7 shows in his hometown of Melbourne!), with many selling out the day they went on sale, making it one of the most successful comedy tours of the year!

Beginning his career as the legendary Jimmy Giggle on the award-winning ABC Kid’s TV series, Giggle & Hoot, Jimmy spent a decade as the face of the iconic series, airing seven days a week on the national broadcaster, where it still airs daily on repeat across the ABC!  During this time he toured with Giggle & Hoot playing to more than 500,000 people live and releasing several albums including an iTunes #1 Christmas album, Jimmy Giggle’s Christmas Party featuring duets with Tina Arena, Fifi Box, Justine Clarke, David Campbell, Deb Mailman and more.

It wasn’t until the pandemic that Jimmy really solidified his personal reinvention, leaving Jimmy Giggle in the rear-view mirror.

Post Giggle & Hoot, in the COVID years, Jimmy’s content resonated around the world with hundreds of millions of views, he was a viral sensation in the truest sense (...not that kinda viral) with his quick-witted comedy sketches  across his Facebook (1M+ followers), YouTube (157k subscribers), Twitter (15k followers), TikTok (1.3M followers + 33.1M Likes) and Instagram (470k followers) platforms as he grew his audience from adoring kids to like-minded adults.

Highly entertaining videos/playlists include, Border Control for..., Meanwhile In Australia, The Guy Who Decides..., POV: You’re From..., Funny & Relatable, The Test To Become..., The Packaging Guy, Parenting Funnies and the unmissable Meanwhile in Byron Bay and Meanwhile in Brighton.

Now, in 2023, following his successful stint on TEN’s Taskmaster earlier this year and his Meanwhile In Australia 2022 tour, truly cementing himself as a staple Aussie comedian, Jimmy Rees is back to entertain the nation once again, with Not That Kinda Viral tour – a show full of laughs, relatability and fun!

With his affable charm and quick wit, don’t miss Jimmy Rees as he hits the road again this August, September, October and November.
