Caroline Polachek announces The Spiraling Tour | December 202322 Aug 2023
‘One of the greatest musicians of our time’ – i-D
‘There are many reasons why she has sold out this 5,300-capacity show; why second nights are being added to her North American tour… a heady, howling triumph’ – ★★★★ The Guardian
Caroline Polachek is a singularity: one of music’s most continually inventive pop auteurs – a shimmering ribbon of a voice that’s immediately recognisable, a self-releasing independent artist, a crate digger, and a lifelong headphone listener who writes songs that literally fill stadiums.
In long-awaited news for fans, promoters are thrilled today to announce the acclaimed US songwriter, singer and producer is headed our way – Polachek bringing her The Spiraling Tour to Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane this December. The tour news comes off the back of Polachek’s acclaimed latest album, Desire, I Want To Turn Into You (listen here).
Tickets for all shows will go on sale Thursday 24 August (2pm local time) via frontiertouring.com/carolinepolachek. Frontier Members presale begins Wednesday 23 August (see website for full info). The singer’s Melbourne performance is presented in partnership with ALWAYS LIVE, a state-wide celebration of contemporary live music supported by the Victorian Government through Visit Victoria. While in Australia, Polachek will also perform at Meredith Music Festival**.
If 2019’s Pang was an ephemeral, crystalline document of risking everything for new love, Desire… is Polachek at her most physical, turning up the temperature and trading tight narrative for visceral tone-poetry. The first taste of Desire…came in the form of cult hit single ‘Bunny Is A Rider’, which premiered as Annie Mac‘s Hottest Record on BBC Radio 1 and gained universal praise from the likes of The New York Times, The Guardian, The Fader, NME, and was named Best Song of 201 by Pitchfork. It was followed by the dazzling ‘Billions’, the Spanish-themed ‘Sunset’, ‘Welcome To My Island’, and latest offering ‘Smoke’, all further proof Polachek is one of the most fascinating artists in the new generation of pop disruptors.
In 2022 she supported Dua Lipa on her US arena tour, and followed up in 2023 with a global headlining tour – selling out venues like Radio City Music Hall in New York, The Greek Theatre in LA, and Hammersmith Apollo in London. She has also appeared at seemingly every prominent music festival in the world including Coachella, Glastonbury (two years in a row), Fuji Rock, Lollapalooza, Oya, and many more.
Triumphant and abundantly creative, don’t miss the incredible Caroline Polachek when she arrives in Australia to perform this December! Tickets on sale Thursday.
