Touring Australia July 2005

A firm favourite with Australian audiences, it’s been two long years since Moby last graced a stage here.

It’s excusable though when you consider that his time has been at a premium since his last visit down under; as he dodged criticism from a celebrated rapper, hit the campaign trail for a prominent American politician, and recorded an entire new album of material.

In Australia Hotel (EMI) recently debuted in the Top Ten on the ARIA charts, while overseas the album has been riding high in the Billboard European Charts, last week regaining the number one spot for its third week in total. Typically, Moby is once again delivering music with his special blend of skill, style and individuality.

"It's a more personal, more direct record than some of the music I've made in the past," Moby recently told Rolling Stone Magazine.

"And it's also part of just getting a little bit older, learning to accept yourself even with all your flaws and foibles and idiosyncrasies."

And while there will be plenty of new material at his upcoming Australian tour dates, long time Moby fans can expect to hear many of the hits they’ve known and loved since Moby launched into public consciousness with Play in 1999 (10 million copies sold worldwide) and 18 in 2002 (4 million copies sold worldwide). His next single Raining Again will be in stores from May 23.
