SLEIGH BELLS ANNOUNCE AUSTRALIAN SHOWS WITH DZ DEATHRAYS + BAIO (SYD ONLY) + I OH YOU DJS!
The Frontier Touring Company and I OH YOU are thrilled to confirm that Sleigh Bells will be returning to Australian shores in 2013 for performances that are set to be equal parts dance party and epic live show.
While the Brooklyn duo are visiting on Australian shores for Big Day Out, they will also be playing two very special I OH YOU parties.
Those lucky enough to attend will be treated to a tour that not only showcases the experimental and frenzied tracks that have garnered Sleigh Bells a huge following and worldwide acclaim but delivers a visceral performance that can only be experienced by seeing them live.
Fringe music fans all over the world were brought to their knees with the 2010 release of their debut album Treats that juxtaposed songwriter and producer Derek Miller’s bombastic synth-laden beats with Singer Alexis Krauss’s sultry vocals.
Quickly becoming the band that everybody was talking about, expectations were decidedly high for the follow up. And boy did they deliver. This year’s release of their sophomore album Reign Of Terror (out now through Liberator Music) continued the evolution of their cutting edge sound and catapulted Sleigh Bells from buzz artists to the saviours of indie rock.
‘Sleigh Bells have delivered a remarkably polished and varied second record while further establishing their musical identity and Reign of Terror simply confirms everyone’s first impressions – this band are something special.’ - FasterLouder
Last year, Sleigh Bells visited Australia for two explosive headline performances in Melbourne and Sydney filled with the duo’s signature energy that has earned them fans the world over.
‘The intense, beat-bruising Sleigh Bells live show is not to be missed.’ – Pitchfork
‘A Sleigh Bells show is anything but your standard concert experience…From the moment Miller and singer Alexis Krauss step onstage, they go into high gear and don't let up until the crowd is fried and frazzled.’ –
Sleigh Bells’ unmissable live performance will be joined by the ferocious DZ Deathrays whose relentless success and acclaim has made them the biggest emerging act of 2012.
Their debut album Bloodstreams (out now through I Oh You) is described by NME as ‘a furiously energetic rumble of sweaty, scratched-throat dedication and a semi-DIY dissection of punk rock’s egoless fun side’.
Joining Sleigh Bells and DZ Deathrays in Sydney will be Vampire Weekend’s BAIO, getting behind the decks and ready to set the night ablaze with one of his infamous DJ sets.
Live performances by dynamic duo Sleigh Bells are not to be missed. Be quick to grab your tickets to what are set to be some of the most energetic and fun-filled shows of the new year.
