Get excited people. Kim Gordon, Thurston Moore, Lee Ranaldo, Steve Shelley and Jim O'Rourke (aka Sonic Youth) are finally dusting off the passports and filling out the visa forms.
That's right - not only are Sonic Youth releasing their brand spanking new album Sonic Nurse this June, but Australia and New Zealand will be first in line after the album release to experience the band, and their new material, live.
The Frontier Touring Company are thrilled to confirm that Sonic Youth will bring The Sonic Nurse Tour to Australia and New Zealand this June. With shows encompassing Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne and Auckland this is one massive multi-city touring feast.
And live Sonic Youth are something to be seen. NY Rock wrote "a roller-coaster ride of distortion, flange, strobe lights and rapid-fire drumming that sounded like an acid-rain storm on a hot tin roof" and Chart Attack declared "they still know how to burn their audiences' ears off."
