In the words of one US newspaper "Jackson Browne is a class act that keeps getting classier ".
And with an upcoming double live album release about to hit stores in early March news of an upcoming series of solo acoustic dates in Cairns, Byron Bay, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide will no doubt delight Jackson Browne fans.
It may have been only a year since he last performed here but it's been a momentous one for Jackson Browne. November 2003 saw Jackson announced as a 2004 inductee in the "performer" category of the prestigious Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. Alongside the likes of George Harrison, Princes and ZZ Top, Jackson will be inducted at the Nineteenth Annual Induction Ceremony on March 15 in New York.
It's a fi tting tribute to an artist who has been delighting audiences with his music and performances for more than three decades. While his last tour to Australia saw Jackson accompanied by his band, this time around he's taking it back to the basics, performing a solo acoustic set that has been earning rave reviews across the United States.
Pioneer Press wrote, "stripping his songs down to their lovely and often troubling essence... he proved... that it's an ideal canvas for his songcraft, sometimes improving on the originals by removing some of the pop-flavored instrumentation that can obscure their emotional power."
While The Free Press added, "with more than a dozen albums, Jackson is still writing and recording songs that resonate emotionally, politically and spiritually. He can also perform them acoustic,on a stage, with warmth and genius."
If he delighted with his band last year, Jackson Browne is guaranteed to awe you with his solo acoustic show. Make sure you're there, and anyone you value as a friend is at your side, because this is a night you won't forget.
