Julia Michaels

Julia Michaels

Joining Shawn Mendes on all his shows and making her Australian and New Zealand performance debut is one of 2017’s biggest global breakthrough artists, Julia Michaels. Michaels has established herself as a chart force; logging 12 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, eight of which reached the top 40, before her voice had even hit the airwaves! One of the 10 New Artists You Need To Know: Feb 2017 by Rolling Stone, Michaels boasts an impressive repertoire, responsible for co-writing hits such as ‘Sorry’ by Justin Bieber, ‘Hands To Myself’ by Selena Gomez and ‘Dive’ by Ed Sheeran, just to name a few.

Michaels’ first ever solo single, the pop ballad ‘Issues’, has been certified platinum in the US after only being released in January 2017, and according to Nielsen Music remains the best-selling song released by a new artist this year. Follow-up single ‘Uh Huh’ propels a love-struck vocal fluttering atop a snappy acoustic riff and eventually a tight synth groove. Both tracks are included in Michael’s highly anticipated mini-album Nervous System (out now via Republic Records).

BRINGING ILLUMINATE WORLD TOUR TO AUSTRALIAN & NEW ZEALAND ARENAS THIS SUMMER

with special guest JULIA MICHAELS

Frontier Touring are thrilled to confirm that multi-platinum singer songwriter and global sensation Shawn Mendes will bring his acclaimed Illuminate World Tour to Australian and New Zealand arenas this summer!

‘The 18-year-old takes it to a new level on his second album, coming off as a bona fide rock star. His guitar playing has advanced, his songwriting has matured and his vocals are crisp: This kid's the real deal.’ - Associated Press

‘Teen idol is discovered. Teen idol hits it big. Teen idol wants to mature. Teen idol pulls it off.’ - LA Times

The Illuminate World Tour marks Mendes’ much-awaited return to Sydney after his debut shows last November sold out in just minutes, and his first ever performances in Auckland, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth.

Shawn is touring in support of his sophomore album Illuminate (Island Records), which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart, marking his second #1 album debut. Current single ‘Mercy’ has been certified Platinum and has soared to Top 10 on pop radio, and its official video has amassed over 115 million views to date. The Illuminate World Tour follows Shawn’s sold-out 2016 Shawn Mendes World Tour, as well as his sold-out Illuminate release show at New York City’s Madison Square Garden.

The singer/songwriter’s first-ever headlining arena tour now includes over 60 dates across four continents, kicking off April 27th in Europe before going on to North and South America, Australia and Asia.
