Rudimental

Rudimental

Brit Award winning & Mercury Prize-nominated Londoners Rudimental last played Australia and New Zealand in 2014, touring in celebration of their global smash debut album Home which is jam-packed with anthems like ‘Not Giving In’ (ft. John Newman & Alex Clare), ‘Waiting All Night’ (ft. Ella Eyre) and ‘Free’ (ft. Emeli Sandé):

Earlier this week the UK four-piece gave fans a taste of their forthcoming sophomore album (due for release later this year through Warner Music) with lead single ‘Never Let You Go’, featuring Foy Vance. The track picks up where their debut album left off with the perfect balance of toe-tapping percussion, layered harmonies and a rollicking horn section.

No strangers to working together, Sheeran collaborated with Rudimental for ‘Bloodstream’, taken from his latest album x. The accompanying music video features iconic American actor Ray Liotta as a washed-up frontman of a fictional hair-metal group, click here to view.

Passenger

Passenger

Mike Rosenberg, better known as Passenger, has been a close friend and frequent collaborator of Ed Sheeran since the pair first met almost ten years ago. While on tour together, they have performed countless duets including a version of Passenger’s ‘Heart’s On Fire’ and an amazing mash-up of ‘No Diggity’ and ‘Thrift Shop’

As well as supporting Sheeran on his sold out 2013 tour of Australia and New Zealand, the Brit Award-nominated performer has played countless sold-out headline tours of his own here since 2009, gaining a dedicated and ever-multiplying fan base along the way.

The man behind ‘Let Her Go’, one of 2013’s most successful songs globally which has been streamed close to 320 million times on Spotify, Passenger’s evocative songwriting shares intimate yet universal stories that come alive in concert. Armed with an acoustic guitar, his signature raspy vocals and hilarious on-stage banter, Passenger has won the hearts of audiences the world over.

His sixth studio album Whispers II (out now independently through Black Crow Records) was released earlier this month, with all profits from every album sale going directly to UNICEF. More than £50,000 has been donated from pre-orders alone.

Foy Vance

Foy Vance

Foy Vance, Sheeran’s close friend and collaborator, will be opening proceedings at all shows. The Irish troubadour was born in Northern Ireland and spent part of his youth in Oklahoma where he developed a love for soul, blues and jazz. His songwriting reflects the careful balance between his love of these styles and his homeland’s folk music roots.

Vance’s debut album Joy of Nothing was released to critical acclaim in 2013 and received the inaugural Northern Irish Music Prize for Best Album.

Earlier this year, the Irish troubadour released Live At Bangor Abbey (out now through Liberator Music/Glassnote Records), recorded live in his hometown of Bangor in Northern Ireland. Click here to view the official ‘making of’ trailer.

Returning to Australia & New Zealand this November & December for his biggest shows yet!

+ FIRST EVER ARTIST TO PLAY AUSTRALIAN + NEW ZEALAND STADIUMS COMPLETELY SOLO

WITH SPECIAL GUESTS RUDIMENTAL, PASSENGER & FOY VANCE

We just can’t get enough! As his seventeen sold-out arena dates across Australia and New Zealand come to a close, Frontier Touring are thrilled to confirm that Ed Sheeran will be returning to our beautiful countries to play stadiums this November and December.

Kicking off on November 28 in Brisbane and playing Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Auckland throughout December, the tour will see Sheeran playing his biggest venues to date; becoming the first ever musician to perform an Australian and New Zealand stadium tour entirely solo. Every single sound on stage will be produced by his voice, guitar and a series of loop pedals, filling the stadiums with hypnotising layers of sound.

This will be Sheeran’s second tour of 2015 and fifth visit in four years. His sold-out March/April tour saw him perform in front of close to 190,000 fans across Australia and New Zealand to rave reviews:

‘It takes a special kind of courage to walk onto an arena stage with nothing but a guitar, a loop pedal and your voice, but at the age of 24, not only did Ed Sheeran take Rod Laver Arena with the confidence of a veteran songwriter, he single-handedly blew the roof off... surely Sheeran's most ambitious tour to date, but evidently his best.’ – The Age

‘…seems to get better and better at commanding attention and filling the biggest of rooms, all on his own.’ – Sydney Morning Herald

‘Seeing Sheeran construct each song right before your ears felt like watching someone weaving a musical tapestry.’ – The New Zealand Herald

‘I doubt that that there's ever been louder screams in the arena or more passionate singing than there was on Friday night.’ – Stuff.co.nz

His November/December tour will follow over a year of relentless touring across the globe in celebration of his best-selling sophomore album x (out now through Warner Music).  The Grammy-nominated Brit’s tour schedule includes more than 170 shows, appearances at Glastonbury Festival, T in the Park and Southside Festival and selling out both London’s Wembley Stadium and New York’s Madison Square Gardens three times over.

x, featuring hits including lead single ‘Sing’, fan favourites ‘Don’t’ and ‘ Thinking Out Loud’ and current single ‘Bloodstream’ (ft. Rudimental), was Australia’s highest-selling album of 2014 and spent six weeks at #1 on the ARIA Album Chart last year.

Adding to the impressive list of achievements and accolades that the 24-year-old performer has received in his four years and two albums, Spotify have named Sheeran the most-streamed artist in the world. In 2014 alone, his tracks garnered over 860 million streams. In the same year he was also named the biggest-selling artist on iTunes in the United Kingdom, Ireland and New Zealand.

Sheeran’s ability to sell out shows across the globe with just an acoustic guitar and a loop pedal to create pitch-perfect harmonies and driving percussion is testament to his prodigious musical talent.

Whether this will be the first or tenth time that you will witness his live show, Sheeran guarantees to have you on your feet and singing along from the first song to the encore. It’s no surprise that the love for Ed Sheeran in Australia and New Zealand is strong and tickets are renowned for selling out almost instantly - be quick to secure yours!
