HEADLINE SHOWS ANNOUNCED!
Brace yourselves for the return of one of the hottest rock duos around. It is with great excitement The Frontier Touring Company confirm that The Kills will be performing headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne this July.
Both headline dates are sure to be in high demand, especially given the widespread popularity of the London based blues-tinged garage punk duo’s fourth and most recent studio album Blood Pressures (out now through Domino Records):
“Prowling around with the rejuvenated vigour of having had, essentially, a three-year sabbatical, Alison Mosshart and Jamie Hince are tighter, fiercer and wired with more raw, visceral energy than ever before.” – NME
“The chemistry between Mosshart and Hince must be more intense than ever, because their fourth album is also their finest.” – Rolling Stone
“Mosshart and Hince have always conveyed a sense of anxiety and nervous energy through their music…It's a quality that defines them as much as Mosshart's feverish moan, Hince's hand-slashing guitar riffs, and the synthetic beats.” – Pitchfork
“Four albums in, the Kills remain just as confrontational but with a mature edge. Here, the elements prove just as startling; instead of comprising a lo-fi document of a performance, though, they’ve been sharpened into a surgical blade, refined like pharmaceutical cocaine.” – LA Times
Alison Mosshart’s predatory prowl across the stage and Jamie Hince’s effortless cool beneath the spotlight has rendered them a force to be reckoned with. The duo are as renowned for their ferociously seductive live shows as for the pulsing riffs and growling vocals ingrained within all four of their widely acclaimed albums. Fans eager to hear the new material live amongst past favourites will not be disappointed.
The Kills’ 2005 tour left audiences rapt and hungry for more and their return this Winter will surely be welcomed with eager arms.
