DARWIN SHOW ADDED!
Visit the TOUR DATES & TICKETING section for details.
“Overwhelmingly politically incorrect” (What’s Good, NZ) Alex Williamson knows how to Banter. Alex (or Shooter as his fans affectionately know him) is a unique, multifaceted filmmaker, songwriter and performer who has proven to be a huge runaway hit with the YouTube generation.
Alex has smashed out a new live multimedia comedy show every year since he decided to channel the genius that has earned him 3 million social media followers, into writing and performing live shows. He’s one of the hottest tickets at comedy festivals and big theatres around Australia and the UK, and that’s because he talks the talk.
★★★★★ ‘nothing is off limits...wildly entertaining’ - Rip It Up
★★★★ ‘quickly carving a new niche in mainstream comedy... this is how a modern comic mind SHOULD work’ - Herald Sun
‘A man who grasps the essence of comedy...sent the audience into fits of laughter.’ - Broadway Baby (UK)
Alex began performing stand up in 2007, going on to be a state finalist in triple j’s 2009 RAW Comedy competition. After a stint in radio, with a show on SAFM & Austereo’s digital comedy station Barry, Alex relocated to Los Angeles where he performed duties for The Hot Hits shows live from LA, gathering content from various A-List celebrities at red carpet events. In 2012, Alex commenced another transition in his career, which saw him bring his various YouTube characters, songs and stand-up comedy to life in a hilarious live stage solo show, Alex Williamson and Friends. This and his subsequent live shows have sold out shows at all the major comedy festivals since 2012.
Alex went on to tour Australia, leaving a trail of sold-out theatres in his wake, before heading on to the 2013, 2014 and 2015 Edinburgh Fringe Festivals, where on his debut he was called “the future of comedy” by the most notorious reviewer in the UK, The Scotsman’s Kate Copstick. Darkly intelligent and crassly funny Shooter will debut his latest live offering Make The World A Banter Place at Adelaide Fringe – get in early and see what comedy looks like in the 21st Century!
