Snow Patrol 2012 (AUS)
SNOW PATROL - LIVE & ACOUSTIC!
Fans of Irish/Scottish alternative rockers SNOW PATROL will be treated to an exclusive acoustic showcase of the band’s music in intimate theatres in Melbourne and Sydney.
The band are visiting Australia off the back of their latest album Fallen Empires (out now through Universal Music Australia).
Snow Patrol rose to fame with era-defining singles such as ‘Run’, ‘Chocolate’ and ‘Chasing Cars’ (which spent an incredible 104 weeks in the UK Top 75 and was voted song of the decade in a Channel 4 poll). After a career that has seen them sell over 11 million albums to date, the band feel they have made a career defining album that will really connect with fans:
"This feels like a proper record to me," says singer Gary Lightbody. "A grown up record, but a fun record. I've always wanted to make an album that could rank with the ones that inspire me, and hopefully this one will. I'm really proud of this album. Listening to it thrills me and that is a beautiful thing indeed.”
Critics are unanimous in their praise for Snow Patrol’s live show:
“Lightbody commands the crowd with his beautiful accent and everyone singing to their songs was an inspiring experience. Snow Patrol, known for their anthems, are what arena rock is all about.” - mxdwn.com, May 14 2012
“Highlights like ‘Called Out In The Dark’, ‘Run’, and ‘Take Back The City’ followed with unmistakable vocals, crisp and clear sounds, managing to create a highly electrified atmosphere. Overall, the band engaged with the crowd to unprecedented levels, giving a very personal feel in such a large venue.” - The Courier UK, February 8 2012
These special and one off acoustic shows will sell out fast; don’t miss your chance to see Snow Patrol as you’ve never seen them before!

Joining Snow Patrol for their two special acoustic shows will be New South Wales singer/songwriter Steve Smyth. His roots in music can be traced back, past adolescent forays into punk, folk and rock, to a childhood of Sunday gospel sessions.
Smyth's musical passions range far and wide. At 14, he started a short-lived punk band, by his late teens it was all about Bob Dylan.
Smyth creates a sublime and haunting array of songs united by their ability to make time stand still.
